Why did you post/allow posting of your nude pics (multi-choice)
 

Just out of curiosity, I thought that I would ask why people post nude or nearly nude pics of themselves (or allow pics to be posted).

I'm not judging, and I enjoy looking at most of them, but I am curious. So I thought that I would post a poll.

I don't, unless it's to show off my piercings and tattoos, and even then, no cootchie pics. Stuff on the netz lasts forever, and I just don't want it there.

I picked all of 'em...didn't actually read all of 'em, but i'm sure they're true even if i'm not conscious of it. Really I hope others appreciated it.

When I joined the Cellar I was still in the habit of years, of vetting every single photo of me, of requesting that all others were destroyed, of being really controlling about my image because basically I hate it.

I'd been here a year when the RFN thread started. I felt I'd been accepted for my mind, and no-one gave a damn about what I looked like. In fact as a relative newb, it was hardly even going to be of interest. It was so liberating to take a photo and post it and just not care. Although it didn't necessarily change my life for the better - darker days have come and gone since then - it did relieve me of a great burden I'd carried for a long time.

When I was being very strict with myself about exercise and food - fuelled by HM's scrutiny although it was in my best interest - it was both liberating and useful to have a record of what I looked like. The pictures were not erotic, but that were empowering to me. It's so rare to see a naked fat woman. Not posed, just saying, "Yes, here I am, this is what I let happen, this is what I am trying to redress." I am proud that I did it.

I am back in a situation where I am trying again. I don't yet have the courage to post pictures of myself naked. But then this time round I am taking it more slowly, I can't afford the gym (I couldn't exercise at present anyway because I am still limping and walking is my exercise of choice) and I am not in therapy, which was something that made me feel very positive last time round, even though I hated it. However I am living in a place which is very good for me. I am working, and in a job where I am flattered and praised and congratulated weekly, and apart from that I do a damn good job.

So you still gets pics of my face because I am in a good place.
And maybe this time next year I might go back to full body shots. Although they'll almost definitely be clothed. I don't regret posting nekkid pics for a minute, but I'm not in the same place now and I don't think they're necessary.

Please note, all the above is about me and the pictures I posted, which are very different to the pictures other Dwellars have posted, so they in no way make a comment about them. If I had any of those bodies my reasons for posting would be different again, and I mean that positively.

SG- I love your progress picks. I'm glad you're back to working on it, its all about feeling better mentally and physically. My mom is currently working on getting in healthier shape as well (although she wouldn't post those kind of picks :) )
I personally thought you looked sexy, not just because of your body, but because you were willing to share. I am humbly requesting full body shots, even clothed. Not only do I want to be able to praise you on your progress, but I want see your hot body! I love your mind don't get me wrong, but the physical aspect adds a bit of spice.

SG, I thought it was very brave of you to make those posts. As for other Dwellars reasons, that's why there are so many choices on the polls. I think you look great. If I were single I'd certainly show you.;)

BTW, we may be starting Weight Watchers back at work again if they can get enough people. I have kept off the 40 lbs I lost, so I would like to continue on if it didn't require me to go evenings and weekends.

Nope, not gonna do it. If you all enjoy it, that's great - but it's not my thing. First off, I feel as if I've been trying since puberty to be appreciated for something other than a collection of body parts. Showing my face is one thing, but I'm a lot more than a pair of boobs. Besides, my husband would be furious. :)

Also, I personally don't think naked bodies are all that attractive. I think people look a lot better in skimpy, suggestive things that tease a little bit instead of just putting it all out there.

And no, since I'm not a participating cellar nudist, I didn't vote. ;)

Why not?
My body is as much a part of me as anything else I post.
That I am married, intelligent, a mom, 36, etc etc... doesn't mean I don't have a body or that no one should see it.
It's an adrenaline rush.
It's an ego stroke.
It's motivation to improve myself.

Because I'm anally retentive and the only way to get over that is to just do it...Because I'm a prude about nude photos....rlly. :)

Girls just wanna have fun.

plus, we get a lot of sweet props from the cellar men when we show it. :)

I can't imagine anyone *not* appreciating it.

I, for one, would like to state unequivocally that I do *not* only care about a woman's body, or see *any* woman as a collection of body parts. I care for/admire/respect the totality of women, and feel not merely stimulated when graced with photos of their pulchritude, but actually *honored* and awed by the trust and faith shown by the act.

I do not objectify women; however, I refuse to leave their physical beauty out of my admiration for the whole person. That's just as as stilted as seeing a woman as merely a collection of body parts.

I think the appreciation and props are part of what's so neat about posting pictures -- nude or otherwise -- to the Cellar. Generally, everyone is supportive and positive, and it seems people choose to simply scroll on rather than leave negative comments when something is not to their taste.

a lesson. when men show appreciation for less than playboy perfect, they got a lot more action. :) goes double for the gals, too. we appreciate the male dwellars who show and tell.

I haven't posted anything much on this site worth looking at as far as nakedness goes, but I have been known to do so in the past.

There was a chat room I used to go to once and there were a couple of prudes that used to show up at a particular time each day, so I had a picture of my nether regions in all it's open glory for them to feast their eyes on which I'd use as my avatar for the duration of their stay. The first time I did it, I was PUI, but after the reaction I got the first time, I used to do it for the entertainment value.

Anyway, that's my story. Maybe I'll post a pic of my naked guts in a month or two when there's something worth seeing. lol

I do my best to try to stay in shape for the health benefits, as well as the aesthetic ones. For me, my husband could tell me a million times a day how hot I am etc., but well, he's my husband. :). It's exciting to hear it from others too. A reward to myself for the hard work I've done, and motivation to keep going. It's been fun to have my husband participate in some of the picture taking as well :D.

I just wish more of the men around here would reciprocate! The male species isn't the only one that can be *visually* stimulated, you know.

SG, I have to agree with MTP that sexiness is way more a state of mind than a physical attribute. I personally much more attracted to a woman with a healthy attitude towards her own sexuality than than any physical attribute.
