Several Disjointed Thoughts
#1 -- A PSA/Vent: Do not feed stray cats; you may think you are doing them a favor, but you are not. For if you do, you will attract more strays, they'll all have many kittens and exponentially more kittens and more and more and your neighbors will get really pissed off at having cats crap and pee all over and get into trash cans and open car windows. Also they will not like seeing dead cats in the road, under their porch, or half-dead ones with infected faces. Trust me, I am the neighbor.
#2 -- I have decided I don't really like that "hot British teacher" Brianna and I have mentioned. I like hearing him read out loud, but he's kind of an ass and I don't think he likes teaching very much. And yes, this is marginally related to a grade - I got 89 on my exam, but what bugs me is that he took 5 points off a long essay question and didn't bother writing why. I asked him and he just kind of sneered at me and said "it's competent, but not outstanding." Humph. #3 -- I got an A on my paper about "Sestina." :D #4 -- I knew it would happen eventually; usually at the worst point each quarter, when I'm most overwhelmed, all of my clients call wanting work done. I now have 1 big and 2 small projects lined up. Well, I've been wondering how I would pay for winter quarter, there it is. I just wish it would have waited till intersession. Well, back to work. Feel free to comment and share random disjointed thoughts of your own. :typing: |
gotta get that goat bred
mmm... pink eye did you say joint? |
Classicman should win the cellar blinkered republican award.

The Democrats still don't want to win the war, and manifestly do not understand the benefits that would accrue to the entire planet, not just the United States, once the GWoT is won. I call that blinkered, and all who subscribe to such ideas not merely blinkered, but being led about by nose-rings -- by the blinkered. Or, what Obi-Wan Kenobi said, climbing out of the Millenium Falcon's smuggling bins.

oh my bad, i thought the disjointed was between thoughts, not within :o

I disagree. But I'm far too nice to post my alternative :P |
Thanks monster - much appreciated, except I'm not a republican.

1) Tennessee rocks. I love the country, I love the mountains, I love the slower pace of life. Being here is good for me.
2) I'm going to miss my daughter something fierce when she goes to Hawaii to be with her dad for a few months. 3) Rain is hell on double-coated dogs... and tile floors when said dogs come in from going potty. 4) Home made applesauce is sounding DELICIOUS... |

If you wear tight shirts with words written on them, I cannot be held responsible for staring at your chest. Even if you are 19 and I am old enough to be creepy.
Charo has a Grammy. Say it with me. "Charo ... has a Grammy." This industry is unbe-freekin-lievable. I've lost about 10 pounds since the school dining room started offering raw fresh veggies at every meal. |

However, she is a respected classical and flamenco guitarist. She trained with Segovia as a kid. So maybe I just missed it. |
My feet and ankles hurt. My dog is looking at me with an adoring expression on his fuzzy brown face. The new BBC kids' series, Merlin, is really cool. Did I mention my feet hurt?
Why is it, that when i hear a report, or think back to the devastation of whole industries in the 80s, the picture I see in my mind's eye, is of out of work men? Despite knowing that women lost their jobs earlier, more consistently and in greater numbers, the 'tragedy' of unemployment conjures a picture of male loss. I find that interesting. I am a feminist and am aware of the mechanisms of gender construction, yet I am still subject to that construction. *smiles* |

Because we wimmin cope better with "un"mployment. We consider the many jobs to be done around the house as "work", even if they are unpaid, and because we do not hang our identity so firmly on our employment.
