My favorite season!
|
-claps- pretty changing leaves, leaf piles for the MiniTrea to play in, the crisp scent of the air, sunshiney brisk days, pumpkins and Halloween and Thanksgiving... and best of all, MiniTrea's first birthday (on Thanksgiving day, no less!) Yep, I'm right there with you, Cloud. I LOVE FALL!
|
Harrumph. As long it's still 90 degrees outside, then I don't care what superficial distinctions those meteorologists like to make.
|
I like early Fall
I like early Summer I like Early Winter I like late Spring if I could sleep from the 15th of January until May 15th.....I so would. |
I love the fall. It's vampire time.
Oh, and :ghost: time, too. And, :reaper: time. It's a lot of times. |

We have had beautiful weather the past few days, very fall-like. Cool at night, warm during the day. I'll have to say I like fall the best (but late spring is an amazing time of the year when people are so tired of a long cold winter) but when I was younger it was summer all the way. The hotter the better. I produce my own inner heat now, due to a little thing called perimenopause. |
try black cohosh supplements, Shawnee. They worked for me.
|
May try that. Thanks!
|
"Remifemin." good stuff, but you have to take it for a few weeks before it starts to work.
|
this used to be a thread about the weather
and now it's about your uteruses how cool is that? |
this is a thread about nothing though, so it's ALL cool!
|
or hot, as the case may be . . .
|
I like them all. They all have their positives and negatives.
Spring - fresh blooms and smells - creation of new life... Summer - Fishing the beach and skimpy clothes. That initial rush of A/C when you come in from outside. Fall - The vibrant colors and football. Winter - nothing like getting cozy in front of a roaring fire with your SO. You? |
I love Autumn. My complete, total, lovely, favouritest season - ever!
I'm so happy it's here again. |
I get very melancholy in the fall.
|
I do too!
But in a really good (ie not medically depressed) way. There's somethign so poignant about seeing the year go up in flames. We had an Autumn colours thread somewhere - I'll have to take my camera to Greenwich Park and resurrect it. |
You know, I lived for six years in Upstate New York. Now, I live in Georgia. And just let me say... I MISS THE FALL COLORS up in NY!! :-( They don't get much better in this country than the Finger Lakes region... ah well.

Maybe it's the poet in me, but if you're talking menopause, it's STILL a thread about the fall.
Seasons = age, world's oldest metaphor. OK, that was kind of depressing. |
SONNET 73
That time of year thou mayst in me behold When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang Upon those boughs which shake against the cold, Bare ruin'd choirs, where late the sweet birds sang. In me thou seest the twilight of such day As after sunset fadeth in the west, Which by and by black night doth take away, Death's second self, that seals up all in rest. In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire That on the ashes of his youth doth lie, As the death-bed whereon it must expire Consumed with that which it was nourish'd by. This thou perceivest, which makes thy love more strong, To love that well which thou must leave ere long. ...I'm sorry, I've had a bad day. :( |

Sorry if there is another Autumn colour thread.
There are so many different ways to search (fall, trees, color, Autumn, photo etc) that I just gave up. Naughty. So here's just a bit of my Autumn for you. Two pics of my Great Aunt Alice's vine, transplanted years and years ago. Certainly before Nanny died, because she killed off the original with secateurs, thinking it was a weed. It was a standing joke between me & my bro; we thought she did it on purpose, not being a kindly woman or a gardening woman. Anyway. It grew well in her south-facing garden, but the transplant did not do so well in our no-idea-which-way-it-faces-but-it's-in-shade-90%-of-the-day-even-in-summer garden. Still, it has produced sharp but edible grapes for about five years now. I mean you wouldn't eat them for pleasure, but to pick a grape in England, in a shady spot, it's worth your mouth looking like a cat's bum for a second. And I love the look of them. Reminds me of the time I spend in France. Just less homesick and less Puy-de-Dome. |
Nice pics, S.G. In my part of the world we are getting a taste of winter - 3 inches of snow and 20 degrees F. Yuck!
|
Hee hee .... 32 degrees C today, going for 36 on Sunday...
