If you had to be another dwellar who would it be?
OK,
Let's say you had to choose another dwellar to be, who would it be? This is not to be confused with a popularity contest, it's more like an alter ego. Just curious, who would it be? |
jinx...so i could cuddle with lumberjim!
|
I think it goes without saying. We all want to be footfootfoot.
|
I'm thinking Griff. The point of this would be to be different and it seems like Griff might be my polar opposite.
|
I'd say Wolf, so I wouldn't have to go anywhere when I finally snap.
|
I was thinking Zip but I don't think our lives are different enough. Elspode lives differently. I'll be the pagan.
|
I wanna try on SundaeGirl's shoes. No kids, working in a pub... not something I'd ever have ended up doing on my own.
|
The real question is, who wants to be HungLikeJesus?
|
Is it Limey that lives on on an isolated island? I'll take that.
|
Yes. SM's talent and job, xoB's attitude, SG's gentle congeniality in Limey's location.

Oh my! I came to this thread with a little maggot gnawing at me saying, "Well! No use looking for your name here!" So I wasn't. And to see it made my heart swell enough to ping the maggot out. Yeah, blood/ ear-drum connection thing, you know. I know it's not necessarily an admiration thing - but mine are so I allow myself pleasure.
If I had to I'd be one of the Cellar super-moms. And I had decided this before Clod's kind words. I do like children, despite some of my rants. And I'd always sort of hoped that one day the fabled biological clock would kick in and my fear of screwing them up/ them being a burden (the two fit so well together!) would be overcome. I'd love to be part of an unassailable family unit. And I figure the only way to do that is by blood or law. Blood is pretty much out and even laws can be changed. And aside from me, me, me - I admire the heck out of these women. Intelligent, reasonable, level-headed, engaging, funny, factual and fanciful. Fuck being them - I want to be adopted! |

why? well, she's smart, she knows a thing or two about the mechanics of vehicles, She canoes and teaches her children the skill too. She is teaches herself photography, she expresses a love of nature. She's her own woman and if god thought all that wasn't enough made her beautiful too. |
you want me

Gosh sky , that was really nice. Thank you.

I'll be a little bitch and say Mags.

He's not quite gone, he just won't answer his phone anymore. Fred (Plthijnx) gets out next month...I'm hoping I can reach them BOTH then.

I'd missed that too! A dwellar in the big house, eh? Kind of cool, gives our cellar a real underground darkside bohemian feel. Are we allowed to ask why he was in?
Who would I be? So many to choose from.... Ducksnuts - cool car and gets plenty of action. ZippyT - very nice southern lifestyle Ibram - so much potential and opportunity LJ or Bruce - envy their post count But really I am going to stretch the rules and say i wanna be Lil-Lookout. That kid rocks and he has a great dad. Lets go PLAY! Or defy bullies. Either way... cool |
I would love to be me and try to figure out what the hell is going on inside there..
|
Why doesn't anyone want to be me? I don't have to go to work unless I want to. The bills always get paid. My husband loves me. My kids love me. I have a loving extended family who are actively involved in my life. I get to go shopping whenever I like. I have great friends. I live in a nice house in a quiet little township which is close enough to the city to make dining in style still a good option.
And those are just the good things about my life that I can think of right now. There's tons more. Who wouldn't want my life? |
sorry, you're australian. ;)
|
You shouldn't be sorry. I'm very happy being Australian. Wouldn't want to be anything else. :)
|
If you had to be another dwellar who would it be?
It's said that variety is the spice of life; so, I would be this one.

If it's only temporary, I'll say Flint. He has a nice spouse, nice kids who he and pooka really enjoy, and he knows a lot about music. Mostly, though, I'd like to be inside a brain that's even quirkier than mine!

I would be you, Ali, but the only big change would be becoming Australian. :3eye:

The beer is good here. You can even get that american stuff if you really must.
SG, you're a doll. But you know that already don't you? Case, there are lots of advantages to being an Australian. You'd love it. ;) |
On the beer (which I am occasionally), is it true that in the USA there is a limit to the percentage of alcohol allowed in beer (I've heard 2.2% or something)?
If so, my sympathies. |
Yes. If there is less than 2.2% it cannot be called beer.
Meet Victory Brewing Co's "Twelve". 12% abv. It will Fuck You Up. And it will be Mighty Tasty while it does! |
Ah, a minimum strength. A much better idea.
12! Dats some strong stuff! Beers here range from "light" <2%, through "mid-strength" 2-4%, to "full bodied" 4+%. Most are in the 4.5 to 6% range, although Coopers Vintage is a very drinkable 7.5%. |
AFAIK this is not true.
But some places have a limit on what % is allowed to be sold in grocery stores and such. The stronger ones are available, but only in liquor stores along with the hard stuff. |
About 2/3rds of American beer drinkers prefer the standard American lager, while the rest of us say that's like sex in a canoe, and drink heartier, bigger-tasting stuff.
The ever-popular Bud family: 5.0% Budweiser 5.0% Bud Dry 4.2% Bud Light 5.5% Bud Ice 4.1% Bud Ice Light 4.3% Bud Select 4.2% Busch Light |
Sex in a canoe? Um.....
Anyway, when I think of Australian beer, the first thing that comes to mind is Foster's. Which isn't bad, but I suspect there's better stuff out there. I'll drink Bud usually, but if I want to splurge I go for something like Newcastle or Michelob Amber Bock. |
Guinness, mmmmm.
Harp, mmmm Red Stripe, mmm. good for the beach, beyotch. |
Pilau is the obvious choice here, I think. Those snausages sound awesome! :) (and the tarts)
|
fosters is the stuff we sell to you lot in the US. Not too many aussies will touch it with a barge pole...unless they're really desperate. For example, if that's all that's left in the esky.

I had to wait for someone to ask, you see. |
Where the F are you Homber?
we have Budweiser der konig auf beers which is, despite it's clarity, 5.5% and some of the nutkins drink Spaten which is 7.6% and then there is Samichlaus which is 14%. But in Utah all bets are off... |
speaking of beer
I like the wheat beers/flavored fancy pumpkin ale and apple cider beer if I am going to drink one. There is an american beer that is black ale. It's quite a stout one I can't remember the name. I don't drink that one because I am a light weight. I can't stand Fosters and Guinness and bud. Corona tastes like a Miller of which I like along with Michelob. I can't tolerate beers much because of the yeast. The yeast gives me a headache right off. |
I'm fond of a good wheat beer. But I really haven't had any beer, except for maybe a couple at a party, in years. I've been strictly on the hard stuff.
|
I like a nice girly "flavored beer". It's not really beer at all, but that's what it says it is on the label. It's the cheese food product* of beer.
* contains no real cheese |
People go apeshit over Shiner and Fat Tire around here. Those two and Dos Equis are practically all you ever see. Is that stuff even available in other states?
