Here's a photo of a new Marine camo pattern on a helicopter.

Clodfobble 08-03-2008 10:33 PM

Seriously? :eyebrow: I mean, it's certainly possible, but have you seen one with your own eyes?

Do you see what I'm talking about? Perhaps you need a closer shot. I sure wish we could have gotten away with this! They just about hung us for trying to put nose art on one of our aircraft

Big Sarge 08-03-2008 10:35 PM

I haven't seen it for myself. These photos are being distribute amongst aviation units

zippyt 08-03-2008 10:55 PM

That's not a helicopter. That's a dolphin.

zippyt 08-03-2008 11:23 PM

Marine Super Stallion , WAY Bad ASS helo !!!

Oh and its a SHARK !!!

xoxoxoBruce 08-03-2008 11:26 PM

Before the first Gulf War, due to the rapid need for deployment, and so many to be painted, the Marines were allowed to paint their squadron aircraft in their own hangers before deploying. There may have been as many as 4 of these ships with that paint scheme.

Big Sarge 08-04-2008 06:21 AM

Thanks Bruce. We all thought this was something new on the aircraft at Al Asad

Sundae 08-04-2008 07:19 AM

So let me get this right.
Camouflage is to help you blend in, right?

So this helicopter is designed not to be seen... in a desert strip club?
Useful.

;)

cabbagepulley 08-04-2008 07:21 AM

That's one dangerous chopper...you could put an eye out with those things! ;)

ZenGum 08-04-2008 07:44 AM

You wait 'til you see the fuel filler hole...

classicman 08-04-2008 07:47 AM

Just be careful checkin the oil.

sweetwater 08-04-2008 07:58 AM

I thought that sort of art was reserved for the mud flaps of trucks.

Sheldonrs 08-04-2008 08:34 AM

Semper Fuck.

TheMercenary 08-04-2008 09:11 AM

Seriously, how fast will it go if it lauched from a treadmill?

Those and the MH-53's are the freaking loudest helo's I ever flew in. Eva.

Gravdigr 08-20-2008 03:57 PM

That just proves we were made for each other!!!

squirell nutkin 08-20-2008 07:50 PM

BrianR 08-21-2008 09:11 AM

fun sponges?

Big Sarge 08-21-2008 11:37 AM

We tried to paint nose art on our aircraft & I thought they were going to crucify us. It wasn't even nude, just a pin-up type pose of a girl with a flag strategically draped over the right parts. Fear of claims of a "hostile enviroment" in regard to sexual harassment.

Thank God I'm going back to armor. We get away with more.

A fun sponge does to fun what a regular sponge does to water. ie it sucks it all up and makes it go away. As in not letting soldiers have any fun with their aircraft.

BrianR 08-21-2008 03:23 PM

ah
