How did you die?

assume previous lives.

How have you died? You may have repetitive dreams about it, or maybe an irrational fear of a particular scenario......

I've fallen from a great height. ive been buried alive. that was the worst.

dar512 05-30-2008 10:28 PM

Car crash. When I was younger I had dreams about it.

xoxoxoBruce 05-30-2008 10:42 PM

Shot in bed by a jealous husband, at the age of 104.

Undertoad 05-30-2008 10:52 PM

I was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald whilst in a parade in Dallas.

lumberjim 05-30-2008 10:53 PM

oh, sure....mock me.... that's REAL mature.

classicman 05-30-2008 10:53 PM

stupidity - self induced

jinx 05-31-2008 12:01 AM

Burning ship and drown in a creek, face up, just below the surface.

HungLikeJesus 05-31-2008 12:26 AM

I backed into a spinning airplane propeller.

Sundae 05-31-2008 04:18 AM

If I use my dreams as a reference I also fell from a great height.
Into water.
I often dream I am on spindly, ill-made structures above the sea, which are swaying to and fro. Perhaps I was a sailor and fell from a crowsnest?

(Disclaimer - dreaming of falling is a common dream metaphor and not an indication of previous lives.)

DanaC 05-31-2008 06:45 AM

If dreams or an irrational fear are the indicators then I must have died in a house fire :P

Since the age of about 15 I've had this fear of fire. It tends to hit as I go to bed. I often (especially if in a troubled state of mind) head to bed with escape routes running through my mind. How to get out if I can't get downstairs? How to get the dog out? This shit sometimes keeps me awake. It's one of the reasons I fight falling asleep, I think.

TheMercenary 05-31-2008 07:17 AM

Drowning at sea.

DucksNuts 05-31-2008 08:51 AM

Shot by a scorned women.

My grandmother was killed like that, well, her's was jealous lover...but close enough

Cloud 05-31-2008 08:53 AM

have no effing clue, but among the ways I really don't want to die are: falling & being burned

skysidhe 05-31-2008 09:17 AM

Exploding airplane and falling into the water.

Cicero 05-31-2008 09:48 AM

I've always died in the now. So I don't know. There were never any instances of previous time or lives about it. Not that I can remember.

Jacquelita 05-31-2008 11:35 AM

I died in Paris... during the time of revolution

Griff 05-31-2008 01:06 PM

I died in a space craft decompression. Past lives can be in the future too yah know.

regular.joe 05-31-2008 04:59 PM

Assuming previous a previous life/lives, then I've never died.

Jinx, did you see leaves floating by above you?

footfootfoot 06-01-2008 09:28 PM

Wasn't that "Occurrence at owl creek bridge?"

I'm sure I drowned at sea. At least once. I have an odd feeling I was in WWII with my dad, although he was in the pacific theater and I have recollections of the European theater as well.

Drowning at sea is one of my least favorite ways to die. I've done a transatlantic sail, not afraid of sailing, just would prefer to die on land.

No just the surface, rippled with the current, trees overhead, sky...

oh really? because I've had the same dream twice. I'm on a plane going to Hawaii and the plane explodes over the water.

Past lives? Does there have to be more than one? If so I am afraid I havn't learned much on this trip.

Flint 06-02-2008 10:36 AM

I died, mainly, due to Cardiovascular diseases (29.34% of the time); Infectious and parasitic diseases (19.12%); Ischemic heart disease (12.64%); Malignant neoplasms (cancers) (12.49%); and/or Cerebrovascular disease (stroke) (9.66%).

But the funny thing is I don't have cool dreams about any of these things!

That's because you fail to see the malevolence in their eyes.

lumberjim 06-02-2008 11:18 AM

16.75% by buggery?

SteveDallas 06-02-2008 11:22 AM

I was tortured to death because I refused to recant my disbelief in reincarnation.

Sex with the Mens US Olympic Gymnastics team...and died of exhaustion.

SreWolfe 06-06-2008 09:17 PM

How...?

I became invisible and died of loneliness...

Tree Fae 06-07-2008 01:33 AM

From an early age I dreamed of a large bridge with lots of scaffolding. I was in the backseat of a car driving on the bridge. In someways the bridge seemed like a draw bridge. We were going up and the car went off the end of the bridge. I would wake up screaming. I have always been afraid of bridges. I stopped having this dream when I turned 19 but can still clearly see the pictures in my head and feel the terror.

sweetwater 06-09-2008 08:23 AM

I was a soldier reconnoitering a village caught by the locals while crouching behind a hut. There is a significant injury (gunshot?) in my right forearm. And in a car at night while it was raining hard. There was a fire and I lived long enough to see the flashing lights of the cops arriving.

Ruminator 08-21-2008 03:56 PM

Its interesting that noone posted and said that they were a cat, dog, pigeon, or a cow in India for that matter?

Is your belief that your dreams are factually representing a "past life", or maybe are your minds way of using your sub- conscience as an outlet for concerns and stresses, or simply blowing off steam from your conscious, waking life?

SteveDallas 08-21-2008 05:10 PM

I dreamed I committed disgusting sins, acts so horrible and abhorrent that they can't be named.

As punishment, I was reincarnated and forced to read message boards on the Internet.

Flint 08-22-2008 10:39 AM

In my previous life, I was a tree. A lonely tree, a bumble bee. Gray hair, rocking chair, sipping a steaming hot cup of tea.

wafflepirate 09-01-2008 02:53 PM

Boredom?

Assuming that dreams are an indication, I fell off a cliff in about 13 different lives, and in one my sister was eaten by wolves and then I was too...

...
But I think I will die of a heart condition in my early 30's in this life *shrug*

wolf 09-01-2008 10:28 PM

U-Boat captain, went down with my ship.

morethanpretty 09-01-2008 11:00 PM

From dreams and irrational fears, I have died from zombies, a hobo living in my parents greenhouse, bridge catastrophe, plotted against and eaten by roaches, and lastly the dark.

I have had dreams where I was a bird, a larger-than-housecat, and other critters. Dreams where I'm not even there. Dreams where nobody else is there (I call them the "factory tours"). Dreams where narration in a foreign language is played over scenes of villagers speaking another unknown language (I call them the "Discovery channel"), and very often, dreams where I am aware that I am dreaming and will stop and redirect or repeat the sequences at my whim. I don't know what any of them mean, but I know that I would not share them with a shrink who had authority to net me and lock me away, because that may exactly what would happen. :(

SamIam 09-03-2008 10:23 AM

I've only died once before in a really bad one car accident. My heart quit in the ER and I was a flatline for 10 or 20 seconds. Then they got my heart beating again, and I haven't died since (knock on wood ;) ).

Yznhymr 09-03-2008 07:42 PM

That damn dingo got me...

Number 2 Pencil 09-08-2008 06:32 PM

In the year 21200 BCE, a wooly mammoth decided that the guy throwing a pointy stick at it deserved to be squished like a grape. I was so traumatized that I didn't incarnate again until the 1970's. I spent most of the in-between time playing checkers with Vishnu who would let me take 100 years per turn, but would take no time at all to make his own moves... yet he would win every time... except for that one time, though I think he just let me win that out of pity... bloody gods.

lumberjim 09-08-2008 07:33 PM

i thought Vishnu was a Sheila

Elspode 09-08-2008 08:00 PM

Referred to as male in everything I've ever read, but as he is one of five manifestations of Deity, he can probably do whatever the hell he wants.

footfootfoot 09-08-2008 09:19 PM

Vishnu?
Nah ting. Vishnu vit you?
