Democratic Clusterf**k

People are saying this drag out fight for the Democratic nomination may cause the losing democrats supporters to vote Republican if their candidate doesn't get the nomination. What will you do?

glatt 05-07-2008 11:16 AM

As an Obama supporter, I probably won't have to worry about it. But if Hillary wins, I'll throw up a little in my mouth as I vote for her in the general election.

elSicomoro 05-07-2008 12:40 PM

I personally don't have a real issue with John McCain becoming president, though I support Obama. I don't think real Dems will vote for McCain...once Hillary finally gives up, all will be forgiven and her and Bill and the whole party will come roaring back for Obama.

lookout123 05-07-2008 12:52 PM

Nah, Hillary will implode on the national stage then phone in bomb threats to the D convention. She'll end up hiding in the bushes with Margot Kidder talking about what could and should have been.

elSicomoro 05-07-2008 01:05 PM

The Clintons are masters at the poker face, though...besides, Hillary still has a chance in '08 or '12.

Sheldonrs 05-07-2008 02:47 PM

I just wish that Obama had Hillary's experience and that Hillary had Obama's spouse!

Switch those names and I'm with you.

Mommy, mommy, give me a spoon - glatt threw up and Shawnee's getting all the biiig pieces.

Shawnee123 05-07-2008 03:53 PM

I usually do get the big pieces. ;)

glatt 05-07-2008 04:04 PM

Not from me. I chew my food very well.

I'm a master masticater.

TheMercenary 05-07-2008 05:01 PM

I would vote for the Devil himself before Hitlery.

How could that be "unfortunate" for me? I don't support Cheney.

piercehawkeye45 05-07-2008 10:20 PM

I think it was just a joke attacking Cheney.

Well leave me out of it. I think Cheney is the source of all our problems today, not Bush. Bush was never smart enough.

I vote on "This poll was made by a neocon moron who hates the principles America was built on"

Griff 05-08-2008 05:42 AM

If Hillary wins I'll probably vote Libertarian. Gravel and Barr have joined our usual field of no-names. I might look at Gravel, coming in from the left. War mongers are right out so Clinton/McCain are non-starters.

Radar 05-08-2008 12:01 PM

Hillary is done. She's just trying to recoup the 11 million dollars she lent to her campaign before she drops out.

elSicomoro 05-08-2008 12:57 PM

How is she going to do that, though? She blew through the $6 million...now she just gave herself $5 million more.

Radar 05-08-2008 02:14 PM

I didn't say she would be able to do it, I said she was trying to do it. I don't know many people who will donate to her campaign just so she can pay herself back. I think those who want to donate to a Democratic presidential campaign, want the money used to pay for radio & tv commercials, yard signs, bumper stickers, phone banks, campaign staff, speech writers, etc.

Not to mention access to her when she wins the Presidency.

Radar 05-08-2008 04:56 PM

Very true...which is why nobody will want to donate to her campaign since she has a snowball's chance in hell of winning her party's nomination let alone the presidency.

lookout123 05-08-2008 05:08 PM

That's right. Didn't you say it would take a live boy or a dead girl to keep Obama out of the White House?

Urbane Guerrilla 05-10-2008 05:23 AM

My big piece -- the one that's a repeating arm -- chambers 7.62 NATO.

The Democrats are still -- chronically -- the Party of Defeat. What lamebrain could want that? Time for them to go the way of the Whigs.

Making war upon ultra-statists like fascists cannot properly be conceived of as unlibertarian. To bring libertarianism to the places that will benefit the most from it -- the places that lack even the conception -- will require libertarian parties to grow claws and fangs and be skillful at using them. It's a matter of human instinct: the instinct to dominate the environment. People will fight like dogs to attain or retain power. Libertarians must prepare to outgeneral and outpunch that kind of opposition. Until then, the libertarians get nothing.
