Virtual Maypole

. . . and may baskets for all! Happy May Day to everyone!

I sure wish we could reclaim this holiday.

First of May, First of May, outdoor fucking starts today!

Dingleschmutz 05-01-2008 09:57 AM

My "may basket" came from my boss. It's a cupcake wrapper filled with popcorn and M&M's... WTF?

SteveDallas 05-01-2008 10:01 AM

"It's May, it's May, the merry month of May . . . . ."[/Camelot]

Most? What are the exceptions?

Dingleschmutz 05-01-2008 11:07 AM

My favorite has to be the John Hancock grave in Boston. It stopped me and my friend dead in our tracks. We went into hysterics when it actually said on the grave that it was "erected" for his memory.

Laughing at gravestones makes baby Jesus cry.

ha! I've only ever come across that phrase in Jilly Cooper's Rivals (I think -one of those huge trashy but awesome novels anyway) -where did you come across it?

monster 05-01-2008 02:59 PM

Mum actually started her email to me this morning, "It's May, it's May, the lusty month of May!" [/also Camelot]

But then again it is my Dad's birthday (the email was to thank me for calling - apparently I was the only sibling to do so and he was made up) so maybe she got some of the joys of spring before breakfast?!

We used to have a client who would call up every May 1 and carol that phrase. I miss it.
