The flower shaped thing I have outlined, it that just coincidentally flower shaped bunch of crud, or is that an actual structure? Are those other ones on the stalks that I've pointed out with the arrows?

HungLikeJesus 04-03-2008 09:44 AM

I'm still trying to figure out what CYTWIIY means.

BigV 04-03-2008 09:49 AM

Rolf Harris wikipedia

He also made several television appearances in which he would paint pictures on large boards in an apparently slapdash manner, with the odd nonsense song thrown in, but with detailed results. This was often accompanied by the phrase "Can you see what is it yet?" just before the painting became recognisable.
He is an ozzie so it'e more like, "Cun ya tell wut it iz yut?"

also the wobble board, I was doing this in the lab only today.

Interesting.

How about a magnetic tape? The relatively smooth background is the tape, and the stuff on the surface is the magnetic particles.

Or maybe it's some sort of coating on a lens or other glass.

trying to use insider knowledge ;) . I do brakepads a lot actually, they're complex mixes.

Monsters bored with all the talking and wants to to some more action, and who am I to refuse.

Normally I post a series of images slowly pulling out to reveal more of the object, but I found it difficult with this as i thnk it's suddenly a give away.

This is the next one, see if it helps.

Shawnee123 04-04-2008 09:28 AM

Sorry, I didn't take the images home with me to post, haven't touched a computer all weekend anyway.

This is all there is:

LabRat 04-07-2008 10:35 AM

My first thought for the squares was salt/sugar crystals, but they tend to have much sharper edges, these look 'soft'. The second pic made me think of a spice mix, with the squares being the salt, but I still think the salt would be sharper, and I am not sure if the 'floor' is part of the thing or not. Plus the scale would be different... Hmmmmmm. This is going to make me hit my forhead when we find out what it is, I just know it.

Me too. I'm going to guess it as well.

The cubes have soft edges because they are worn.

lumberjim 04-07-2008 11:38 AM

So, it's like a "gently used" spice mix?

BigV 04-07-2008 01:31 PM

spice mix? vegetable, right? what kind of spices are you talking about?

spice mix

LabRat 04-07-2008 01:36 PM

if those cubes are their talent, then the scale bar IS right...

Oh, and salt is a 'mineral'. The other things in the mix are probably vegetable, but weren't in the original pic.

Shawnee123 04-07-2008 01:37 PM

lol
What's with Big Red Smoky Spice (second from right)?

I wish I were an Oscar Meyer weiner...

BigV 04-07-2008 02:08 PM

Why are we doing your homework for you anyway, Beest?

LabRat 04-08-2008 08:48 AM

::cough:: clue please ::cough::

xoxoxoBruce 04-08-2008 09:17 AM

Clue?
No clue for me.
There ain't no stinkin clue that would help me with this one.:headshake

Beest 04-08-2008 10:08 AM

The other stuff in the picture is condimentary to the main subject, the cubes.
Dunno why the corners are rounded, just from being shaken around I suppose.

Shawnee123 04-08-2008 10:10 AM

Mustard?

classicman 04-08-2008 11:05 PM

I was going to guess that it was a close-up picture of the cocaine residue Jerry Seinfeld left on the back of the dead hooker in his dressing room after the final episode.
