Want to go to Mars? Sign up now!

Dammit. I was going to sign up, but now I'm afraid it'll conflict with my plans to go to work at Google's new office on the Moon.
Decisions, Decisions. |
Actually, this looks pretty good. People and organizations like this will lead the way forward into space. Relying on governments alone will leave us waiting and paying for a long time. I especially like the way they've cast a wide net with their plan and survey. Leveraging the transportation expertise of Virgin with the information management expertise of Google seems like a potent combination. Futuristic visions like this are very exciting, it feels like science fiction is becoming science fact. Our destiny as a species lies beyond cradle Earth. Out there! Life's (as we know it) next great diaspora!

What is today's date?

Isn't Google pretty well known for their 4/1 jokes?

Screw them. The bastards never responded to my application to go work on the moon. I won't give them the satisfaction twice.

I missed this thread on the actual day, but I would have taken it seriously (from just reading this I mean). Why? Because I read an appeal for test subjects for space travel simulation a little while ago.
They were looking for people to take part in testing for long space journeys/ space station stays. Not actually to travel, just to live in close quarters in simulated environments so they could evaluate. It was good money for people prepared to give up approx a year of their time. I liked the idea but fell heavily at the hurdles mentioned in the article with a history of depression, a dislike of confined spaces and (not from the person spec) being a solitary git. |
nice work

Thanks. Too subtle or unfunny or something.... it's discouraging to have to explain my own jokes. But not so discouraging to keep me from doing so. *sigh*

I feel your pain!

Huh?
|
Where is the boldfaced space? No wonder I did not see it.

Yeah, I thought about making two paragraphs, but I like how it flowed this way. And I didn't strain myself making a sentence that started with an apostrophe either.
Don't worry, tw. You're excused from getting it. And you have the whole cellar for company. Feel better? :headpat: |
