Forget about war in Iran; Pakistan is the next battleground

Remember when the great Barack suggested that US may have to dive into Pakistan to get Osama, with or without permission? Considering Osama is no longer Musharraf's priority, the Bush Administration agreed to go in, if asked. I think with a successful 9/11 style attack there, a takeover of a nuke silo or an assassination of Musharraf, the US may dive in without stopping and asking.

Drax 01-24-2008 06:23 PM

Watch this video before you comment on whether or not we should bother these people:

classicman 01-24-2008 09:56 PM

Whats your point there Drax? I don't think bin Laden is in a big metropolitan city.

Drax 01-24-2008 10:33 PM

The point, in my own weird way, is that Dubya keeps turning countr[i]es to shit to find one guy, and after 9/11, all OBL has done, AFAIK, is make threatening videos.

Next thing ya' know, the big cheese 'ill say there WMDs in Pakistan.

I'm most likely being nievee But I think unless there can be absolute proof as to Benny's location, forget about invasion.

ZenGum 01-25-2008 12:37 AM

Well, there ARE WMDs in Pakistan. They have The Bomb, and have done multiple successful tests.

Drax 01-25-2008 01:12 AM

You got proof?

Ibby 01-25-2008 01:51 AM

tell me youre kidding, drax?

ZenGum 01-25-2008 02:32 AM

Pakistan has conducted two nuclear tests, the first of which was claimed to be the simultaneous detonation of five nuclear devices and the second a single, smaller device.
These were on 28th and 30th of May 1998, and were in response to tests by India a week previously.
See : http://nuclearweaponarchive.org/Pakistan/PakTests.html
http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/pakistan/nuke/index.html (the Federation of American Scientists)
or any of the other 2,400,000 google hits for "Pakistan nuclear tests"...

deadbeater 01-25-2008 10:40 PM

India is taking the fact Pakistan have nukes seriously. Why don't you think India isn't attacking Pakistan now, while India has the nuke?

And it's no coincidence that al-Qaeda is cozying up in Waziristan. Now US would have to ask nicely to invade another territory.

TheMercenary 01-26-2008 07:55 AM

Hey if we can get the Paki's and the Ijuns to have a little nuclear exchange maybe we could get some of those outsourced jobs back! Not a bad idea.

Griff 01-27-2008 07:29 AM

Now there's an optimistic thought.

deadbeater 01-28-2008 06:30 PM

India pledged not to attack with a nuke first. Pakistan, population being outnumbered 7 to 1 vis a vis India, currently does not pledge to so refrain.

TheMercenary 01-30-2008 10:24 AM

Frontline did a great show on PBS last night on the resurgence of the Taliban and the role of Pakistan. It was very good.

deadbeater 02-05-2008 08:56 PM

Al Qaeda thinks so too.

xoxoxoBruce 02-05-2008 11:12 PM

McCain was on the tube tonight, promising to go after Bin Laden. I guess that means Pakistan.

deadbeater 02-05-2008 11:27 PM

Oh shucks, that means Iran could win again. If the US, particularly with Bush in the White House bungles and do too much collateral damage in Pakistan, then that could mean Iran is the only real power in the Muslim Middle East.

classicman 02-05-2008 11:39 PM

Well Bruce, That'll prolly make tw happy.

xoxoxoBruce 02-05-2008 11:48 PM

Don't be silly, NOTHING makes tw happy.

That would make any decent and real Americans happy. Those with contempt for America even refused to ask a simple question: "When do you go after bin Laden?"

In 349 days, America will have leaders with balls to ask that question. Wacko extremists, so dumb as to all but protect bin Laden, will be circumcised. Then America will begin the long arduous task of recovering cordial relations with most every nation in the world. Of course, 30% who show no intelligence as to support George Jr will disagree. Dittoheads especially believe what they are told to.

Hmm, I think America will have a leader without ANY balls at all.

piercehawkeye45 02-06-2008 04:36 PM

Iran winning? I would like to think of it as we handed it to them (or Osama did).

Maybe that next president will use somebody else's balls for that pendulum rack found on one's desk.

Urbane Guerrilla 02-09-2008 09:50 PM

It's still a long way from tw saying "I am happy." As for the rest of his, uh, analysis, it's still the thalidomide case trying to play the bagpipes.
