A hypothetical situation

(Don't you love hypothetical situations?)

Let's say you're sitting at an orchestra rehearsal. Your stand partner is a woman you've known for a number of years, but are not good friends with. Since this is a pickup group, there are lots of people that neither of you have met before. One of the players in another section is a young lady wearing a pair of jeans. The disposition of her jeans is such that you can tell she's wearing a purple thong underneath.

Your stand partner asks you, "Could she wear those jeans any lower???"

What's your best answer?

Spexxvet 11-13-2007 10:42 AM

Hypothetically, "hell, yes"

Shawnee123 11-13-2007 10:43 AM

Answer: She could, but she'd risk misplacing her flute.

Me: "Maybe, lemme ask-Hey Patty, you think you could lend me your valve oil and slide grease? Oh, and can you show s'more crack?"

Partner: "..."

Me: "What it wasn't funny?"

jester 11-13-2007 10:55 AM

Of course she could, but you know "crack kills";)

Shawnee123 11-13-2007 10:57 AM

This is serious, jester, quit cracking jokes, will ya?

jester 11-13-2007 11:44 AM

Don't be an ass;)

Shawnee123 11-13-2007 11:47 AM

I wouldn't be if you would quit butting in. And don't give me all that crap about how you're keeping the thread alive for posterity.

:)

Say you are color-blind and tell her you need a better description.

Spexxvet 11-13-2007 12:12 PM

Would around her ankles be lower?

Shawnee123 11-13-2007 12:27 PM

Would wrapped around Spexxvet's head be lower?

barefoot serpent 11-13-2007 12:33 PM

Would you describe that as violet or puce?

barefoot serpent 11-13-2007 12:39 PM

...or Excuse me while I adjust the G-string on my bass.

Pants, or ankles?

Shawnee123 11-13-2007 12:57 PM

Pants. But ankles would work too, I suppose.

I had to butt in here, and just say you're being rather anal about the whole thing:p

Steve Dallas: "She thinks we're playing Air on the G String."

Clodfobble 11-13-2007 04:08 PM

"Could she wear those jeans any lower?"
"I know I couldn't, I don't have the hips for it."

Crimson Ghost 11-14-2007 12:15 AM

"Could she wear those jeans any lower?"
"Yes, but she'd have to shave..."

Yes, but then they would be called chaps!

ZenGum 11-14-2007 08:15 AM

At a minimum they should cover her crotchet, especially if there is a strong breve blowing. It could look sharp and put a quaver in a man's voice. I note that it's natural for her to be a bit cheeky but the string section is supposed to be beside the brass, not blocking the woodwinds.

I should give it a rest before he joke falls flat.

SteveDallas 11-14-2007 08:35 AM

I knew I could count on y'all to come up with many more smart-ass replies than I could have on my own.
