Homophobia, the reality

BTW, this is not the only time this study has been done.
The result is always the same.
Homophobes are closeted, or at least in violent denial about their homosexual urges.
You have to ask, why would one CARE what another does and feels when it has no affect on them?
The answer is simple, they are affected because they are attracted.
It is the only answer we now know.

Psychoanalytic theory holds that homophobia --the fear, anxiety, anger, discomfort and aversion that some ostensibly heterosexual people hold for gay individuals -- is the result of repressed homosexual urges that the person is either unaware of or denies. A study appearing in the August issue of the Journal of Abnormal Psychology, published by the American Psychological Association (APA), provides new empirical evidence that is consistent with that theory.

Any man who won't admit that, in extreme circumstances, he'd totally gay it up with another guy is a fag.

Brilliant!!!

xoxoxoBruce 08-16-2007 04:30 PM

And what has the pope got to do with these scientific studies?

rkzenrage 08-16-2007 04:32 PM

He is a huge homophobe and therefore repressed homosexual, clearly.

Flint 08-16-2007 04:36 PM

Nobody reads anymore. Not even putting your post on top of a picture of the pope works with this crowd.

rkzenrage 08-16-2007 04:38 PM

Seems to be a real issue the last few days... it has been really pathetic.

Yes, the effectiveness of my pre-pope-picture text has also declined over the last several days.

Shawnee123 08-16-2007 04:44 PM

I don't know, if the pope is in a pizza he's pretty damn effective.

Meh. He's sexually repressed in all facets; the man's a virgin, for crying out loud. No way to know if he truly resents homosexuals to a greater or lesser degree than, say, adulterers.

Perry Winkle 08-16-2007 05:01 PM

Scott Adams (of Dilbert fame) on the Pope's trip to Turkey a while back: "Anyway, I know I feel more comfortable with the Pope in Turkey. When it comes to handling delicate matters affecting the survival of the planet, you want to send in the 79-year old German guy with a Marge Simpson hat, a history of talking directly to God, and seven decades of sperm backup. I don’t see how that could go wrong."

Taking a quote from someone and superimposing it on someone else, is not sarcasm. It's nothing short of a blatant lie to further a fucked up, ongoing, agenda, that's getting really tedious. It's in the same league with Gannet.

Aliantha 08-16-2007 07:49 PM

Of course the pope is a fag. He's catholic!

Oh, I see. You called Perry Winkle an asshole because of something somebody else said. That makes you the asshole. Perry Winkle was being sarcastic, as indicated by the course of the conversation (before you barged in with your asshole comments). Get a sense of humor, asshole.

Over in the IQ thread in Homebase I made a polite but critical post to/about RKZ, then I made a joke, and had to tediously explain myself at length and didn't really get anywhere.

In this thread I made a decent funny, took the piss out of RKZ (which what is apparently miffing xoB. my take on the whole "not reading" thing is explained in the other thread.), had a bit of witty back and forth with Flint, and then admitted to being an asshole.

Yes, I was being an asshole, if not caring if nobody else thinks the jokes you make are funny makes you an asshole. Whatever.

The joke comes from the fact that RKZ often says the same exact thing I did about "not reading." Even when the statements are obviously about something read in a previous post.

Paraphrasing (modified direct quote) someone else is not lying. I never misrepresented where what I was saying came from. And I really have no idea what agenda you're talking about, unless it's my preoccupation with entertaining myself.

Yeah I know. It was a joke. ;)

A pun on all the catholic priests who've been caught out having sex with people they shouldn't be having sex with (according to their religion).

BTW, I am catholic. I'm also going to hell because I'm a catholic. I don't think I've got much to lose anymore. :)

DanaC 08-17-2007 04:42 AM

Practising or lapsed ali?

What's the standing of the Catholic Church in Australia? I mean, are they a large part of the Christian population?

It is not meant as sarcasm, it is meant to show that the things he says about homosexuality is clearly projection.
Comparing me to Gannet supposed to be an insult?
It is not, it is not accurate.

Projection of what? Just because some college kids, with their dick wired, got of on queer porn, you're claiming the pope speaking out against it must be a repressed queer? And don't even have the balls to say it's your opinion, just overlay someone else's words on his picture like they naturally go together.

It's entirely accurate, just like Gannet. Preaching that you know what's best for everyone and they should do what you tell them. Railing against the misguided souls that don't follow your lead. Hammering incessantly on all that disagree.... just like Gannet.

rkzenrage 08-17-2007 04:04 PM

It sure is, but he's a graffiti punk with the spray cans hidden in the backpack saying, who me?

For someone who cannot read specifics for yourself and always need them pointed out to you, clearly you would see it that way.

xoxoxoBruce 08-17-2007 05:28 PM

What specifics can't I read for myself?

DanaC 08-17-2007 05:31 PM

*Nods once to self and backs slowly out of the thread*

piercehawkeye45 08-17-2007 07:32 PM

I really doubt every extreme homophobe is a closeted gay. I'm assuming this is the realism of the situation (numbers don't mean anything):

We have 100 extreme homophobes that are 15 years old.
10 years later, 30 of them came out of the closet.

We have 100 homosexuals that are of age 30.
In high school, 50 of them were extreme homophobes.

Just because a strangely high proportion of gays were very homophobic in high school does not mean that every extreme homophobes are closeted homosexuals.

Very lapsed.

I've had sex before marriage.

I've had children out of wedlock.

I've had a couple of 'gay' encounters.

I masturbate.

I've lived the life of a lush.

Yep, I'm going to hell for sure...even if you only count the sins listed above.

Catholicism is losing ground here in Oz just as it seems to be pretty much everywhere. The whole thing is just so full of hypocrisy.

People are tending to go for the more 'relaxed' religions such as C of E and all those off shoots, although I have to say, I don't know one single person who goes to church regularly. Religion isn't a big part of life here. It's definitely something that drives the population as it seems to in a lot of ways in other countries.

DanaC 08-17-2007 07:50 PM

Do you actually believe in Hell?

Aliantha 08-17-2007 08:06 PM

I think I live in hell.
