Roadtrip -I'm so excited!!!!!!!

Wheeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're off as soon as we can get the car packed and grab a couple of hours kip. Just brought home a brand spanking new roofbox so the family can actually have a bit of legroom on this, our longest trip so far, to the Grand Canyon and Salt Lake City.

The projected first stop is St Louis, MO, where we are hoping to arrive in time to catch the brewery tour. THE brewery ;). We're headed towards Santa Fe before the GC, then hopefully we'll have time and energy to do a drive-by of the Hoover Dam and Las Vegas, before heading north through the breathtaking national parks to SLC. No we're not Mormon, just curious :D

Did I mention being excited? three weeks :D

Byeeee :D :D :D

:D We're coming back through Nebraska. Last time I reached a steady 110 on one stretch, but we didn't have the roofbox then. Maybe this time we'll achieve lift off.......
Not taking no chances in the tourist areas, though..... :headshake

Utah has some great parks, Bryce Canyon is my favorite, I think. Max scenery for minimum walking and time. There are several other great parks.

jinx 08-03-2007 10:22 PM

Yeah, Zion is worth seeing...

monster 08-03-2007 11:29 PM

Can't wait! Awesome :D

Uisge Beatha 08-03-2007 11:49 PM

Sounds like you guys are in for a great trip. Have fun, recharge your batteries, and don't forget some pictures.

Oh, and try to perk up a bit, monster. :p

Why dig out my pictures when Google Images will give me one with a couple of clicks?

Too bad I missed this yesterday...you could have had a couple of beers with April and I here in St. Louis!

We're still not there yet! we left much later than hoped (but not than realistically imagined) and are staying an hour east in Vandalia. We plan to be at the Budweiser tour gates when it opens at 11:30 tomorrow! Then onwards to Oklahoma

jester 08-06-2007 04:55 PM

Be safe and have an awesome time.

elSicomoro 08-06-2007 05:59 PM

We're in Vegas.

bluecuracao 08-16-2007 04:30 AM

Hey, monster!

Are you staying at a big casino hotel, or at a kitschy li'l motel?

xoxoxoBruce 08-16-2007 04:45 AM

Just keep pushing the "MaxBet" button, then you can hire a chauffeur for the rest of the trip.

monster 08-22-2007 04:33 AM

kitchy lil motel on the strip. Now on way home near Dinosaur CO after spending hours tracking down a motel room and getting pulled over for speeding. Wasn't going terribly fast and was let go. My first time :(

bluecuracao 08-22-2007 04:47 AM

Thank goodness.

Good to hear from you--any funny stories?

monster 08-22-2007 05:01 AM

other than that it's been awesome. not sure about funny, but it is 4am and i really ought to go to bed

xoxoxoBruce 08-22-2007 05:09 AM

Wallet stolen? That sucks. Did you lose your drivers license?

bluecuracao 08-22-2007 05:10 AM

Your wallet was stolen in Santa Fe? Jeez, that place has changed. Sorry, monster. Sleep well.

edit: The cops should be very responsive.

elSicomoro 08-22-2007 08:08 AM

I lost my wallet/got pickpocketed (not sure which one) in Chicago 4 years ago...that sucked...and I feel your pain, monster.

monster 08-25-2007 01:51 AM

monster 08-25-2007 01:54 AM
