Chihuahua puppy born with love-heart pattern in fur

By staff writers
July 10, 2007 04:20pm

Article from: News.au.com

A puppy has been born in Japan with a large, clear, love-heart-shaped pattern in his coat.

The chihuahua was born in May as one of a litter to a breeder.
Shop owner Emiko Sakurada said it was the first time a puppy with the marks had been born out of a thousand she had bred.
She had no plans to sell the puppy, which has been named "Heart-kun".

DanaC 07-10-2007 03:02 PM

Surely it's illegal for a puppy to be that cute?

lumberjim 07-10-2007 03:02 PM

I hope it is a nasty little ankle biter.

DanaC 07-10-2007 03:08 PM

It'd be kind of humiliating if you had to report it to the police for biting you. "Well....it was very small and had a love heart on it's back"

Crimson Ghost 07-10-2007 03:23 PM

Well, as they say...

Love Hurts.

Cloud 07-10-2007 03:56 PM

that is not the cutest puppy ever, sorry. The heart is much cuter than the face!

That Chihuahua is damned cute, but so are these (well, Donald trump would like the second one, anyway):

bluecuracao 07-10-2007 06:33 PM

The chihuahua kinda looks like Matthew Broderick, especially around the eyes.

Flint 07-10-2007 10:21 PM

Cuteness Rule from teh Overload, everyday small object makes you look small (like "i has a corm") ... a freakin' cellphone, c'mon. tiny

And that other guy, with the comb-over?! jeebus

Yeah, but the chihuahua never killed two people in a head-on collision.

Nor did it marry a talentless, horse-faced skank.

skysidhe 07-11-2007 02:00 AM

Why can't I just accept there is a cute puppy born with a heart shape patch in its fur instead of having this nagging thought that it's a lie.

why can I not just b.e.l.i.e.v.e

The same thing went through my head last night watching a David Attenborough planet earth video. I can't look at any image anymore without wondering about effects/enhancements etc...

WHUT? HE DID? Say it ain't so.

Those are cute dogs, but I prefer a dog bigger than say, a rat. The chi-hoo-ah-hoo-ah doesn't even look like a chi-hoo-ah-hoo-ah yet.

O.K. So #1 here is out and #2 is in the running? Just wanted to clear that up. :D

Shawnee123 07-11-2007 08:44 AM

That first one looks like a yapper.
I'll take one of these, and it's not 'shopped.

Uisge Beatha 07-11-2007 08:46 AM

Day-um! Now, that's a dog.

Shawnee123 07-11-2007 08:47 AM

The Gentle Giant. My dream dog.

Griff 07-11-2007 08:59 AM

Awesome dog! My preference is toward the bigger pooches as well.

I don't believe that picture with the horse.

Don't like little yappy dogs, but you got to admire Chihuahua's attitudes.

DanaC 07-12-2007 04:12 PM

That second one sleeps like Pilau on my little two seat sofa.

DucksNuts 07-12-2007 07:00 PM

Shawnee - I will have to take a picture of our Wolfhound X...shes gorgeous.

monster 07-12-2007 10:05 PM

Turn your head the other way -it's big fat arse.

I recommend puppy nose pate for an appetizer, followed by crispy puppy a l'orange with avocado-stuffed paws. And might I interest you in the most darling fur handbag?

DanaC, Shawnee123 -

Sorry, it's true.

As per -
http://www.nndb.com/people/785/000022719/

In 1987, while Broderick was vacationing in Northern Ireland with his then-girlfriend Jennifer Grey (who'd played his sister in Ferris Bueller), he steered his rented BMW into the opposite lane and it collided head-on with an oncoming car. Margaret Doherty, 63, and her daughter Anna Gallagher, 30, were killed. Doherty's son Martin Doherty was crippled. Broderick and Grey were slightly injured. Broderick, whose blood tested negative for alcohol, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, and under Irish law he could have been imprisoned for five years. He was convicted only of careless driving, and fined $175. The family of the dead were understandably furious. Broderick has since said he's "willing to" meet with Doherty to apologize, but he hasn't.

========

Must be nice to be rich.
He kills a mother and daughter, cripples the son, and walks away with a $175 fine.
Meanwhile, he's nailing the girl who played his sister.

Welcome, MalzB. I wish it were under happier circumstances. If you don't mind my asking, what kind of dog was he or she. (Other than a great friend)

MalzB 07-17-2007 09:23 PM

He was a pure Chocolate Lab. His name was O.D. for Our Dog. He was amazing.

Uisge Beatha 07-17-2007 09:30 PM

Wow, twelve years - I guess you grew up with O.D. I'm very sorry for your loss.

MalzB 07-17-2007 09:42 PM

Thanks. Yea, he did grow up with me. We got him when I was in kindergarten and I just graduated a month ago. Lots of good memories with him. But he was just so sick today that there was no saving him so he basically told us it was time for him to go. That's comforting at least....kinda :-/

Undertoad 07-17-2007 09:46 PM

Sorry for your loss Malz. Welcome to the Cellar, sorry it had to be under these circumstances.

Flint 07-17-2007 10:17 PM

I know it's hard, but you're right: he knew it was his time.

And those good memories will last forever... the most important part of a good friend never really dies.

Crimson Ghost 07-17-2007 11:37 PM

Welcome, MalzB.
My condolences.

And Flint is right.

DanaC 07-18-2007 05:34 AM

Welcome to the Cellar Malz. My heartfelt sympathies on losing O.D.

Shawnee123 07-18-2007 07:39 AM

Ducks, thanks for the pictures. They are so cute! More, more.

MalzB, so sorry about your lost. Even when it is time to go, it's so very hard. Keep those great memories in your heart and you will find they come in handy when you need a smile.

MalzB 07-18-2007 10:36 AM

Thank you so much everyone! And although it is under some not so good circumstances, thank you for the warm welcome. And I would upload some pictures for you but it's not letting me.

Uisge Beatha 07-18-2007 11:08 AM

Yeah, I know that one all too well. You'll have to be around here and posting a short while before you can upload those pictures, MalzB. (It's part of the process to ward off the spammers.) I look forward to seeing some pics of O.D. once you can, though.

MalzB 07-18-2007 02:03 PM

Well it says that I can post attachments. But it still wasn't letting me. And the photo I was trying to upload wasn't to big so I really dont know what the deal is. Hmmm....

Shawnee123 07-18-2007 02:34 PM

Labs are such great dogs. Thanks for the pic.

DanaC 07-18-2007 05:52 PM
