What's the Cheapest thing you do?
What is the cheapest thing you do?
My family steals all the soap found in hotel rooms. And when my dad goes on business trips he takes that soap too. ALL the soap. We stockpile them in the closet upstairs. We have dozens of them. Asian people in general lie for their kids. i.e. When ordering for a restaurant: "Oh my son?" <<glances at small 12 year old>> "He's only 8." <<smiles knowing kids eat free>> |
If a guy named 'Your Rudeness' was to take you out for a nice seafood dinner and then slip you a mickey and have his way with your bottom ....in the car ....in the parking lot, what would you say to him when you next saw him?
|
Well, thank you, your rudeness.
|
Hmmm...so many things...
Resuse ziplock bags Snag sugar substitute packets at restaurants Always ask for samples at doctor's office Use VA for Rx refills Use child labor Get the 5 for $5 hamburger deal at Sonic...and walla, lunches for a week at work Grab as many cokes as I can carry after a catered meal at work...there's always some left over Borrow tools instead of buy I am sure there is more... |

We snag splenda packets from restaurants I use the VA for all my medical care, as is my right I Snag hot mustard paks from the Chinese buffet I all ready own every tool you can think of, and no you cant borrow them As for as your list of cheapness, you sir are a piker |

As for the tools, I might have been exaggerating a smidge. I have all of the common basic tools a man needs to be a shade-tree mechanic. But anything special or some power tools I infrequently use I’d rather borrow (seeing how my father-in-law has just about everything). If I need something more than several times a year, I’ll break down and buy it. |
At restaurants that serve dinner rolls or tortilla chips, I get an extra basket and save them.
|
I've been known to stuff extra Red Lobster cheddar biscuits in my purse.
|
jayus f#$king shit. Stealing fuckin crackers Sorry, but that ain't cheap. It's theft.

Is it cheap to do things because you're really broke?
I used to take home enough toilet paper from work to get me through the evening. But only when I had literally pennies to see me through the next few days. |

Ever take an old fast food place cup you bought earlier and fill it up in the fast food place and use that as your "current" drink with your meal?
Me neither. |
We were driving across Pennsylvania and stopped for gas off the turnpike. It was very early and while fueling up I noticed a "nice" hotel across the street with a sign advertising "FREE continetal breakfast" So we stopped in and had breakfast before getting back on the road.

50 cent drafts on Tuesday nights. ;)

The bread is part of the meal. What are they gonna do, serve it to somebody else after you sneeze on it?
|
There was a great episode of Dr Katz Professional Therapist. I'm not even sure who the comedian was, but he was talking about how he'd go eat with his parents and dad would be all "DON'T EAT THE BREAD...THAT'S HOW THEY GET YOU." The comedian is like "What, you think they sew together the leftover steaks from those who don't finish them because they ate too much bread?"
|
I remember that. I used to say that to people at dinner, "Don't eat the bread, that's how they GET YOU!" ha ha ha
|
Yeah, me too. The only one who gets the ref. is my ex. We loved that show!
|
we pulverize the stale ends of bread loaves then freeze it instead of buying "breadcrumbs".
|
Let's see........I haven't watched t.v in ten years because I'm too cheap to pay for cable.

The cheapest thing I do is probably strangling all those hookers. Hey, it's a free fuck!
|
Wait, do you strangle them before or after?
I used to go across the street from my office and pick up a cup of coffee ($1.25) and, usually, a donut or two ($0.75 each) every morning. Last October, I went to a conference, and the hotel I stayed at had a "pod" coffeemaker in the room--it used a prepackaged single-serving packet of coffee to make one cup at a time. I thought it was kind of neat. Over the Christmas break I bought one of the coffeemakers, along with 72 packets of coffee, for my office (total cost, including shipping, $36). Since Mrs. Dallas had started cutting back on coffee, it seemed to make sense to get another one (with the same coffee pack) for home, rather than make a full pot every morning. I'm a couple weeks away from finishing up that coffee (I had also bought some other stuff in the mean time to try out, so those weren't my only source), and so far I haven't bought a single cup of coffee or a donut from the Wawa since New Year's. |
You're way ahead on that one! Plus, you've eliminated the donut calories.
I get my coffee free at work. And my wife makes me a breakfast and lunch every day. We're "thrifty" ... |
