a-HA! What's Wrong with ME!

I JUST NOW figured it out! On May 14 i was put on a Drug Vacation by my doc! For five years I was on: Wellbutrin XL 450mg/day, prozac 4o mg/day, risperdal .5mg am and 1 mg pm, trazodone 50-200 mg at night prn. HA! I've been off all those fucking drugs for long enough for them to EFF ME UP NOW! Ha!

THAT is what is wrong!!@!@!!!!!!

but, still, at my craziest best, I am far, far better than alicunthia.

Trilby 06-08-2007 05:04 AM

oh, and btw, tw's posts are totally making sense now!

Zing. :D

Shawnee123 06-08-2007 08:19 AM

Bri, are you serious? Did they just cut them out cold turkey? I'm not taking any of the ones you mentioned, but I know how horrible I feel if I miss just one day of my med.

skysidhe 06-08-2007 08:48 AM

lier!....again... I hope! J..f..c...!

Trilby 06-08-2007 09:03 AM

um....i'm not lying.

they took me off COLD TURKEY all those meds I listed above.

they did. people with enormous degrees. i think I should sue.

zippyt 06-08-2007 09:09 AM

Uhh wasn't that because you got busted ,,,, uh,,,, helping your self the the Narco cabnet at work ???

skysidhe 06-08-2007 09:17 AM

yes sue! People need to be 'weaned'off those things! Go tell them to wean you! Why? what is the reasoning?
The amount of drugs on your list is incredulous!
Could a person even function with that many meds in their system? If so how do they expect your brain to handle the adjustment now?

I am in shock because my son takes/took only two of those you mention AND he has weaned himself off of paxil in a year otherwise he would/has gone ballistic. Paxil is bad drug and you should be weaned off it but to be taken off cold turkey is just cruel. :(

Im sorry

ps. doncha just hate the fact the doctors throw those anti depressants at a person! What's wrong with feeling anything these days?!:mad2:

This is a very interesting aspect of your chosen on-line persona. Demand that others toe the line, while making excuses for yourself. It is possible that cutting the bullshit and being yourself would be a good strategy. I won't be replying to your response. This is long-term advice. g

Wellbutrin XL 450mg/day
Four of every 1000 persons who receive bupropion in doses less than 450 mg/day experience seizures. When doses exceed 450 mg/day, the risk increases ten-fold.

But you're still a bitch.

This is correct.

xoxoxoBruce 06-08-2007 11:06 AM

Not the Wellbutrin. If you have a seizure, it's full stop, right now, forever.

Not forever. Just a big assed bump. Well, till the next one. So as long as you don't choke on your own vomit, obstruct your airway with your fat flapper, or break something serious when it happens you should recover... now if you are driving down I-95 at 85mph when it goes down that would be something all together different.

wolf 06-08-2007 11:31 AM

Actually, you can stop all of what bri's on without a taper.

And here I was looking for a polite way to ask her if her meds might need adjusting ...

It helps to understand, Brianna, thanks.

I hope that things get back on track with you.

I took myself off Paxil (under the generic name of Paroxetine) cold turkey. It wasn't my best decision - I felt terrible coming off it and haven't improved much since :(

First thing I do when I move is get myself to a new doctor.

Look after yourself Bri - I really don't think you've been yourself on here recently.

I am not involved with psych aspects of health care but I do know a bit about pharmacology. it was my understanding that cold turkey cessation of wellbutrin can lead to seziure activity. Unsupervised cessation of psychiatric meds can lead to lower levels of depression or other behavior problems. I see it with people who are on Lithium or who have bipolar disorders. They basically relaspse into another plane of craziness. Thoughts?

Cloud 06-08-2007 12:07 PM

I was on Wellbutrin for several years and weaned myself off. Switched from MANY years on Trazadone.

The only time I had a seizure was once when I refilled my Trazadone with non-generic by accident. My doctor didn't even seem concerned.

Shawnee123 06-08-2007 12:16 PM

A drug's half-life plays a part. Effexor is like 5-8 hours, where Prozac is a few days I think.

I think you misunderstood. If you have a seizure while on Wellbutrin, you can never take it again.

Ok, I thought you were talking about the well know side effect of sudden withdrawl.

It's actually a rare side effect of withdrawal, more commonly seen in alcohol withdrawal, sometimes benzodiazepines.

Bruce is right, though ... have a seizure on Welbutrin (or it's off-label use cousin Zyban), and you need to discontinue taking it.

There is a misconception that that suicide warning is only about taking these meds. Well it isn't publicized but suicide and other behaviors can also increases during withdrawl. We don't have all the answers when it is about these meds and how they effect the neurological function of the brain.

Of course I am only talking from my own limited experience.

richlevy 06-08-2007 06:21 PM

So if I read this right you were off of them from May 14th until recently but now you're back on them?

I just looked at your posts for the past 2 days and you've been ripping up the Cellar. This is the improved version?

I can't say I support what Bri has been posting recently (and from other comments I've missed some of the worst) but if you take her posts over the time she has been here compared to the last couple of days... I dunno - I've seen real difference & I can't believe she was faking all this time and then revealed her real self.

Flint 06-08-2007 06:35 PM

Oh, give me a break with this "real self" business...

People in real life are not one-dimensional; don't expect them to be one-dimensional on the internet.

Sundae 06-08-2007 06:50 PM

Bri has flashes of temper. But I haven't seen her this consistently vitriolic in the time I've been posting here. I think I'm justified in saying the change in behaviour isn't what I'm used to.

She's been posting here for three years next month - I doubt she was faking it all this time. This aspect isn't the Brianna that people are used to.

People are admitted into hospitals all the time for no other reason than a med change. I think we need to give her the benefit of the doubt.

very astute

Flint 06-08-2007 09:29 PM

Sorry, SG, I mis-read your post. I thought you said you thought she was faking all this time. My mistake.

Trilby 06-08-2007 11:52 PM

omg. i am not faking whatEVER and never WAS faking (ok--that one time? but only to make you feel good) about myself and GRIFF YOU STUPID FUCKING HIPPIE I KNOW YOU ARE READING THIS SO HEAR IT-----I AM NOT MAKING EXCUSES YOU FUCK ONLY PEOPLE LIKE YOU MAKE EXCUSES SO PLEASE DON'T RESPOND TO ME!!!

Whew.

anyway-------- i feel a bit on edge. that's what is happening with me. theyDID take me off all those drugs cold turkey, a DOCTOR did so I am assuming it's "OK" to do that and I DID have a seizure. OK??????? as far as this being my 'impr9oved' version---omg, that is in SUCH poor taste I can't believe my eyes!~ here, in the cellar! people JUDGING other people! wowowowow

Trilby 06-09-2007 12:14 AM

here's a thought---WHY do people that hate you respond to your threads? I never did get that. i mean, what is the point?

skysidhe 06-09-2007 09:30 AM

Bri.
If I've learned one thing it's to tell doctors what YOU need and not the other way around.

Don't suffer. Make an appointment. Read this article or something else to help you make a case. http://bipolar.about.com/cs/antidep/..._ssridisc1.htm

Ask questions. What is this med vacation for?( personally I don't understand the reasoning behind it if taking a vacation makes a person worse. Then by introducing any medication will provide a false positive?)

Tell the doctor if he is going to resume ONE medication then he'd better do it because you are miserable?

Flint, I know you mis-read the post, and that neither you nor SG were dissing Bri. My post here isn't about that...but I had to put in my two cents.

Having said that, I want to say what a great point you made. Most of us, save a few flat personalities, have all kinds of feelings and emotions wrapped up in our crazy little heads. I wouldn't want people any other way; flat is boring.

BigV 06-12-2007 12:20 PM

so you too are saying i am flat.

glatt 06-12-2007 12:26 PM

would you prefer "well balanced," "grounded" or "even tempered?"

No, BigV, you are not flat.

You are a veritable bubble machine of life!

BigV 06-12-2007 12:39 PM

so you too are saying i am thin skinned and full of hot air.

BigV 06-12-2007 12:42 PM
