You vastly underestimate my lusting parameters.

There's this late 30's early 40's woman at my gym that catches my attention. Really short (5'4" ish), fairly trim and muscled. Very cute.

Any of the DCRGs.

Trilby 02-28-2007 04:13 PM

All the men I lust after-- completely inappropriate.

footfootfoot 02-28-2007 06:14 PM

I wish I wasn't so appropriate for you. :(

You're married, right? See? Inappropriate! :)

Trilby 02-28-2007 06:19 PM

My new mantra: I am NOT attracted to him, I am NOT attracted to him, I am NOT attr....well, you get the idea.

DucksNuts 02-28-2007 06:53 PM

My little chant at the moment is...

I hate the Army, I hate the Army, I hate the Army!! Why am I attracted to men in uniform?

You couldn't surprise me if you tried Flint. :)

Leather patches on the elbows? Pipe?

Ibby 02-28-2007 07:33 PM

Hurley is hot in a very not-physical way...

For me, it's Oscar Wilde, who isnt really that attractive and has been dead for over a century.

If I pointed out a certain young lady to you and indicated that I had a certain regard for her, you would probably not think it was "strange" that I might find her attractive.

If I then disclosed that I had first met her when she was 14, and I was considerably older, then you might be starting to think there was some strange-osity at work.

rkzenrage 02-28-2007 09:44 PM

I love tweed, I have that exact pipe & wear blazers all the time footy my love. Dork school teacher/professor here...

Aliantha 02-28-2007 11:48 PM

See! I knew there was a reason he's always annoying me! lol

Sundae 03-01-2007 05:19 AM

All my celebrity crushes are considered strange by my friends and colleagues...

My weirdest real life crush was on a yound lad who worked in my local supermarket. I was in my mid-twenties and he was 16-18. He looked like a beautiful youth dying of consumption in a Victorian novel, and had an air of pallid world-weariness when wielding a mop.

Totally, totally not my type (I like my men big, brash and slightly brutish) and I never, ever go for looks. And yet I would make excuses to wander round Tesco at least 3 times a week and my heart would hammer in my chest whenever I saw him.

Lord Peter Wimsey weird enough?

bluecuracao 03-01-2007 09:15 PM

I crushed on Mandy Patinkin for a little while for some reason...not when he was young and suave on Princess Bride, but when he was older and gruff on Dead Like Me.

Normal?!? Why, you.... Okay, how about Neil deGrasse Tyson, director of the Hayden Planetarium?

Yes, you win a strangeness prize for that one :)

Pie 03-02-2007 08:18 AM

(I actually used to have lunch with him when he was a postdoc at Princeton. My mom thought he was cute, too. A'course, that was 14 years ago.)

The feeling is mutual. The reasons you are outside of my normal lusting parameters are (1) you're half my age, and (2) you're halfway 'round the damn planet.

Britney Spears is also outside my usual lusting parameters, because normally, I like women with intelligence.

rkzenrage 03-02-2007 07:07 PM

I have a thing for Kari Byron from Mythbusters that is a crush since it is her real personality.
I guess my thing for Amanda Tapping from SG1 is not then.

I have the hots for him too! He's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo brilliant! :heartpump

xoxoxoBruce 03-03-2007 06:25 PM

I think he's quite handsome....not strange at all that he gives Pie a wide-on.

King 03-04-2007 07:04 PM

I'm attracted to a LOT of women. It's either low standards, or it's the ability to find something attractive where others would not. I prefer the latter.

Stormieweather 03-05-2007 11:19 PM

Oh I've had some seriously strange crushes. Unless my morality precludes it (ie: one or both of us is not single at the time), I often follow up on them. Had some awesome flings and made some great friends that way.

* The short, bald, gap toothed boss where I worked (man, I loved going to work!)
* The 32 yr old Pakistani virgin (male) who worked at the gas station (no, I did not take his virginity - all of it, anyway)
* The gorgeous blonde bombshell (female) who worked in a business a few doors down
* My talkative, self-centered college Business Writing instructor (one date was enough)
* My chiropractor who was 20 yrs older than I and licked his lips a lot (we were together several years)

Famous people don't interest me. Infamous ones do...sometimes.

Sundae 03-09-2007 03:49 AM

None of my crushes in the Cellar are strange.

Lumberjim because he's my physical type in real life and so bloody rude with it (but forever just a crush because I am in awe of Jinx)
Elspode because any man who can weave words like that is obviously a cunning linguist
And Bruce because.... Well there aren't enough letters in the alphabet, but when half the women on the Cellar agree, it doesn't count as strange

Kilts.

Kilts get women. They start thinking, "Hey, what if I put my hand right... there?" Once the thought is thunk, it don't get un-thunk...

This guy! :D

DanaC 04-13-2007 11:53 AM

I think my current crush is outside my normal parameters. He's twenty years older than me, he isn't good looking at all.....but he has gorgeous eyes a smile that'd melt permafrost, a geordie accent and a wicked sense of humour. He also has a general air of cool about him. One of those people who, when talks others listen.

Oh yeah...and John Barrowman....he's less my type than any other. He's flawlessly handsome and gay.

Sheldonrs 04-13-2007 11:57 AM

I've always had a crush on Nathan Lane. Anyone who can make me laugh that much will always get my attention.

Ibby 04-16-2007 11:38 PM

my ex that i went out with before caro and am still best friends with except its probably just a rebound and is stupid anyway so i probably shouldnt mention it?

Ibby 04-17-2007 02:09 AM

Oh man.

The only hot guy at TAS... the only asian dude I've ever been really attracted to (sorry, asians - 's just how it goes...)... who isn't really my type cause I dont usually like musclebound, macho guys...

Is bi.
Hoooolyfuckingshit.

I'm gonna kill someone if theyre just bullshitting me.

Urbane Guerrilla 04-23-2007 10:26 PM

Muscularity is not necessarily a minus -- my wife got real hard with extensive gym time once and felt, well, pantherish. Only a shaved panther...

The other thing about plenty muscle is you can have it too, and it's good for getting the lid off the new jar of pickles. There's no frustration like being only just unable to get that lid open.

Ibby 04-24-2007 05:42 AM

Lucky for me I dont eat pickles then.

ashke 04-24-2007 07:46 AM

Keynes... there's this great picture of him when he was younger...
