Ibram

This child seems to live here . I think he is about seventeen years old . Most of the people who communicate on this site seem to be considerably older .

Does nobody worry about Ibram ? Why does a boy of his age spend so much time on internet ?

Where is your mother , where is your father , Ibram ? What are you learning at school ? Why do you spend so much time here ?

I worry about you , Ibram .

Buddug 11-19-2006 10:59 PM

There has been a significant pause , and yet nobody has chosen to answer .

Are you afraid of facing the unacceptable ? A boy of seventeen in front of a screen through the day and the night ?

Buddug 11-19-2006 11:01 PM

for weeks , months , and perhaps years on end ?

Where is your mother , Ibram ?

breakingnews 11-19-2006 11:35 PM

what do you care if he spends time online?

why are YOU online?

Buddug 11-19-2006 11:44 PM

breakingnews , I am online from time to time . I know that screens can be obsessive . I am a teacher & I have four children . Whenever I come to this site , that boy Ibram is there .
As a mother , a teacher , a human being , I feel concerned about Ibram . Especially as a mother .

Buddug 11-19-2006 11:52 PM

I worry about his meals all the time .

breakingnews 11-20-2006 12:00 AM

There are a lot worse things he could be doing ... granted, yeah, huddled in front of a computer monitor all day is not ideal, but he does not do that. I'm sure he's like the rest of us - checking the Cellar is just part of the thrice-daily check-email-check-myspace-buy-stuff-on-ebay routine.

And I can assure you that you do not need to worry about his meals. There's plenty of food to go around in this city.

Undertoad 11-20-2006 12:05 AM

And there's the ban; clearly buddug is a pure troll. Going after each of us in turn. It was fun while it lasted.

Hoof Hearted 11-20-2006 12:50 AM

Banned? Oh well. I thought Ibram was a girl, anyways...living in a foreign country and being home-schooled? Who cares who/how long they are on the internet? Better than out in the streets!

Iggy 11-20-2006 01:02 AM

Better he is here and not on some chat room/forum with lots of 40+ year old men wanting his hot body. :worried: Here he will learn and grow and not be asked to have sex with any of us (at least I don't think so ;) ) I welcome Ibram here for as long and as often as he wants. I always enjoy his posts, as I do most of the Dwellars.

Ibby 11-20-2006 06:02 AM

Now, there's a few of you lot I wouldnt MIND being asked to have sex with...

That nonwithstanding, Buddug is half-right for once, I do spend way too much time online... But hey, thats just so I can talk to my girlfriend (or so I tell myself), so it's okay

Well done, UT.

Buddug was troll-a-licious.

Griff 11-20-2006 07:38 AM

(S)He was awesome! I can't wait for the next permutation. It is a wide world of fruitcake out there and the holidays are coming.

Sundae 11-20-2006 07:39 AM

Now I can take her off ignore & read all the things which would have made me respond crazily when she was still here :)

Trilby 11-20-2006 07:41 AM

[quote=GriffIt is a wide world of fruitcake out there and the holidays are coming.[/QUOTE]

oooooo--mind if I use that, griff?

Griff 11-20-2006 07:52 AM

I've no problem with that.

skysidhe 11-20-2006 08:00 AM

[edit] Ibram, sent you a private message

Good decision, UT. Works well for both The Cellar, *and* Buddug. We don't have to listen to the raving, and (s)he can go around boasting about how the stupid Americans hate their children so much that they ban people who point out the risks. Everybody wins.

marichiko 11-20-2006 10:22 AM

Are we sure LJ just didn't give Buddig a new user name? ;)

Novel idea! "You can stick around, but your new name is asshat."

marichiko 11-20-2006 10:35 AM

Sorry about that. I meant "user title." But he could have given him/her a new user name, too. If "Cock" suddenly joins the board, we'll know who it is.

barefoot serpent 11-20-2006 11:37 AM

nipped that one in the... um... buddug

lumberjim 11-20-2006 11:40 AM

well, i hope you're happy, Ibram. you got someone banned. jeez.

oh, and marichiko, if you had a clue ....well, nevermind.

He seems to do quite well in terms of being able to present a cogent argument, unlike some other people that I could very easily name. He's not the first child we've raised.

Ibby 11-20-2006 04:39 PM

Yes, yes, that's it, use this thread to tell me how wonderful I am!

Shawnee123 11-20-2006 04:41 PM

:notworthy

Kind of backfired on old BDu, didn't it? :)

An asshat, but thought provoking, until this latest series of Dweller stalkings. (s)he tried baiting individuals in the threads, but this starting a thread to bait each individual and try to urge us all to dump on the chosen victim, was stupid. Seems like (s)he has been reading psychology for dummies.

JayMcGee 11-20-2006 08:40 PM

The technique is common on certain other boards... ( AG and SC spring to mind)

DanaC 11-20-2006 08:47 PM

For some reason I am totally dense when it comes to spotting trolls. I am such an easy target it's quite pathetic really :P

Aliantha 11-20-2006 08:51 PM

Maybe you're just more understanding Dana. When you take someone at face value you're not expecting them to turn into twits right before your very eyes.

DanaC 11-20-2006 08:55 PM

Quote:

twits
You spelt that wrong

JayMcGee 11-20-2006 08:56 PM

no, that is indeed spelt 'that'

DanaC 11-20-2006 08:59 PM

hahahah

Aliantha 11-20-2006 09:02 PM

how should I spell twit? I didn't mean twat. Did you know that a twat over here is a vagina?

DanaC 11-20-2006 09:05 PM

LoL Ali, it was a joke...albeit a snide one at the expense of someone who is no longer around to defend herself. I was suggesting that she was in fact a twat not a twit. Twat means the same over here but is also used as an insult. As in 'you daft twat'. Bit like calling someone a prick.

Aliantha 11-20-2006 09:07 PM

It's pronounced twot over here, even though it's still spelled twat.

That's just a bit of trivia for your day though. ;)

DanaC 11-20-2006 09:08 PM

har! i shall remember that

It's pronounced "twot" here too (rhymes with "dot.") Are you saying it's pronounced like it rhymes with "cat" in the UK, Dana?

DanaC 11-21-2006 12:00 PM

Yup

barefoot serpent 11-21-2006 12:09 PM

I hate these twit for twat fights.

Can't we all just get along?

DanaC 11-21-2006 12:10 PM

hahahahahaha very good

Dana, Aliantha & Clodfobble have already answered, but I am intrigued now.

Is it pronounced (cat) twat or (dot) twat in your part of the world?

DanaC 11-21-2006 01:03 PM

Would this be an appropriate time to share my favourite expletive?

Twat on a brick!

We say TWUT here in Ohio. It's kind of like "WUT did you say?" Seriously though, it's more like dot.

DanaC 11-21-2006 01:12 PM

We say it with the vowel as round as we can get it for emphasis.

Iggy 11-21-2006 01:27 PM

We pronounce it the dot way here in Kansas.

barefoot serpent 11-21-2006 02:33 PM

as in twat waffle

Ibby 11-21-2006 09:27 PM

How dare you, you've let my thread fall to number nine in Home Base!

I'm offended. Worship me more.

lumberjim 11-21-2006 09:32 PM

is it 'eye'bram or 'ibb'-ram?

footfootfoot 11-21-2006 09:36 PM

we say eee-bram here in east cornflake...

Ibby 11-21-2006 09:45 PM

Actually it is Eee-bram.

lumberjim 11-21-2006 09:56 PM

pfft

Iggy 11-21-2006 10:26 PM

Well, I don't know about everyone else, but I just had to know that little tidbit. I just wouldn't have been satisfied in life without it. ;)
