Alcohol "grows" cancer

It's probably the yeast. ;)

Well , we all know that too much booze is bad for us . That said, all the deaths blamed on booze take into account the massive accidents that occur when under the influence . Car-crashes in particular . If you go beyond the equivalent of two glasses of wine daily , and do not drink and drive , death due to alcohol abuse is highly unlikely . The article also suggests that there has to be a tendency to cancer in the first place . We do not all have that . And when there IS a weakness , life is shortened by months , or perhaps a year or so . Not much more .
I am not saying that it is OK to drink too much . It is not . Loss of dignity due to alcohol abuse is far worse than loss of life , in some ways . I am simply saying that a glass of Champagne too much should be judged in the light it deserves , without us getting all worked up and stressed about one of the great pleasures in life . |
Gee, and to think, my dad's doctor told him to drink some beers after he had his cancer removed. :smack: Of course, that was to get his weight back up though.

Sugar grows cancer. That's how PET scans work: they track the uptake of tagged glucose.

And now I've read that a drink or two each day is good for keeping cholesterol down. Sheesh, we can't win for losing.
Just wait a little while, we'll get the 'no, wait...' notification from the medical community soon enough. They used to think smoking was actually good for your health and we all know how that turned out. don't get me started of flu shots. |

Read the warning they'er suppose to give you.

The only time I've gotten the flu in the last ten years was the day after I got my one flu shot in all that time.

Have you ever seen the drive-thru flu shot? People drive up to a parking lot where "medical people" are waiting to give flu shots for those in a big hurry. You drive up, stick your arm out the window, and let someone inject you with something. If anyone wanted to seriously take out a large number of people, flu shots would be one way to do it. And we volunteer for it. I just hate the idea of getting medication if I'm not sick. Paranoid? Yes, a little.. but you know, it's a crazy world.
Stay healthy people, wash your hands, avoid large crowds during flu season. |
I've never had a flu shot. I don't intend to ever get one either.

If you don't like the advice from medical "experts", just wait a few weeks.....it'll change.

Well, well. Still discussing cancer? SUGAR does grow cancer, as Flint said. Actually it Feeds cancer and helps it to grow. On the flip side, oxygen kills cancer cells. I am now over two years with cancer and am slowly on my way to an all clear. NO SUGAR, oxygen intake upped (COQ10), organic foods, nothing refined or processed, no alcohol (because of the sugar content), lots of supplements - still on 47 a day - but no drugs anymore.
Lovely to see all the cellar people still writing here. Bye |

*paranoid/delusional* I know the government has a cure for cancer, but they won't tell! They make too much money offa cancer patients to release it! *paranoid/delusional* plus, my spaceship is here. Toodles. |

I actually was the only person in the store looking to buy something, but the line of seniors stretched all the way around and through the store ... they were passing out juice and cookies to the folks waiting so they didn't pass out from low blood sugar. I had to shove a couple oldsters on walkers out of my way to get to the StayFree pads, but there wasn't anyone in line at the registers ... I was the only customer who wasn't there for the shot. |

Personally I think everyday life grows cancer. Cell phones, the additives in the foods we eat, etc. Just eat, drink, and be merry. :)
