Your Clothes
Be honest, and post what types of clothes you wear the most... not just what you show us.
I wear jeans, cargo pants, T's & western shirts, blazers. Doc's, cowboy boots (ostrich) and a lot of flip-flops. I wear a lot of different hats, driving caps, cowboy hats & fedoras. |
Blue jeans, long sleeve cotton shirt, wool blend socks, casual shoes. Carhartt's jacket, logo ball cap (DaughterofV's college). Leatherman, Buck Crosslock, Winchester Stockman, Zippo, BlackBerry, Casio, keys. Pen, paper, USB drives, a little folding money.
Accessories are key. |
I wear the same to work as I do the rest of the time. I am lucky that way I guess. Sometimes I dress up: skirt, nice shirt, jewelry, lipstick etc. to totally dressed down: running pants and a comfortable worn race T or sweatshirt, ponytail, no makeup. Depends on my mood. Usually I am dressed in-between in jeans/shorts and a nice T-shirt or sweater though.
When shopping, before I even look in the mirror when I try something on, if I'm not comfortable in it, it's not going in my closet. If it's comfy and cute on, then I check the pricetag. If I can afford it, and it fits the first 2 criteria, it be mine. I currently have multiples of items I really like in different colors. I never ever ever buy or wear uncomfortable shoes, no matter how cute they are. I am on my feet way too much. |
Jeans and t's. I don't want to have sex with people for whom clothes is an important factor. Unless they're buying.

Summer Work: Slacks/Polo
Summer Home: Shorts/T Winter Work: Slacks/Flannel (tucked) Winter Home: Slacks/Flannel (untucked) |
In warm weather, cropped pants or sometimes a knee-length skirt, leather sandals, and a blouse of some sort. Only time I wear t-shirts and sneakers is when I'm moving stuff or painting.
In cool weather, long pants or jeans, and a long-sleeved shirt and/or sweater. Mules or clogs with trouser socks if it's not too cold; boots with thick socks if it is. On Sundays, my Eagles sweatshirt, jeans, and sneakers. |

In the summer I wear a lot of skirts and casual dresses for comfort, and they look nice. This summer, my neighbor gave me some of her outgrown scrubs and I LOVE the scrub pants with a tee. VERY comfortable.
Love sandals. Winter fare is jeans and button up shirts or pullover sweaters. I don't work, so clothing is strictly utilitarian or comfort. I have a houseful of kitties (cat hair) so we don't dress up until just before we go out. I also have a horse, so most horse activities include boots, jeans and horse-snot-tops. (those are tops I don't mind getting a horse sneeze on) |
Cargo pants, never shorts... tight as I can get them and still be cargo pants. I need the pocketroom. And band shirts. Every day. Currently, it's Queen.
|
A proper shirt, but always blue.
when visiting clients sometimes a tie and usually a pair of grey slacks and a blazer. Otherwise, cargos' and a cord or grey-denim blouse-jacket. But, NEVER, blue denims... |
Jeans & pocket Tee....always.
I have a long sleeve, dark blue, button down & tie with automotive differentials on it, for funerals. |
carpenters pants either denim or duck and some t shirt
|
Work: Dickies or Carhartt, steel-toe boots
Home: Jeans, t-shirt, sneakers Meetings: Black suit |
One advantage of being a software engineer is that I have an indoor job that doesn't require suit and tie.
Work: In winter it's a long sleeve colored or patterned dress shirt and jeans, sweatshirt or sweater as necessary. In summer it's polo and jeans. I could wear shorts, but they keep the air turned up. Home: Pretty much the same except with shorts in the summer. |
I can't answer the question honestly as the lines are blurred. If I'm going out I can dress to look and feel my best in clothes I hope will get me laid :)
Or at least suggest to an intelligent and witty man that I'd be worth talking to - the rest is down to personality. Also depends on (fluctuating) weight as to what parts of me need to be casually draped and which parts can bear closer scrutiny! My favourite clothing would probably be a wrap over dress - kind on the stomach, shows curves and calves and reveals a wicked cleavage. But you'd be more likely to find me in whatever was clean on a given day! |
I'm wearing my glasses, and thats all.

The answer is this: depends on whether we're shopping at Armani or Wal Mart. |
My favorites. Dark jeans, bohemian tops, warm sweaters, boots or leather shoes, comfy jackets, scarfs.
summer: shorts and tanks , flip flops |
At work I wear the corporate shirts (which are actually quite nice, I hate polos and they have lots of styles that aren't polo) and black slacks, khakis, or a long skirt. I always wear some kind of heels (right now they are high heeled boots) because I am sensitive about my height (I am only 5' tall). When I am at home I wear whatever I want, from exercise pants and an oversized t-shirt, or jeans and a cute tee shirt, or a skirt and nice blouse. It pretty much depends on my mood. Usually I will wear the jeans or exercise pants since I have to wear slacks all the time at work.
In the summer I will wear shorts and a tank top and in the cold winter months I will wear a tank top, t-shirt, and sweater all at the same time. And I always have a blanket in my car so that if I get cold at a friend's house I can bundle up. |
footfootfoot is looking fetching and debonair in his new carharts bib overalls and McCallan whiskey t-shirt. Muck chore shoes complete the ensemble giving a comfortable, yet manly look.
|
Today is First Day of Sweats, coinciding closely with Autumn Begins.
|
Today is the first day of a long sleeved dress shirt at work. It was pretty cool this AM.

Work = Denim shirt ( long sleve winter , short in summer ) , Navy colored dickeys ( with cell phone pocket for the ever present bottle of water ( the cell phone pocket is USELESS for ANY thing else !!)) Steel toe boots ( short socke for summer and warm socks for winter ) .
Home = shorts , pocket t-shirt , sandles , winter sweats , long sleeve t-shirt and warm socks . I Don't ( and have NEVER ) dressed to impress , I whear what is comfy and is appropret for the situation . |
Mostly t-shirts and pants/jeans. The occassional skirt. But always with a jacket, whether worn or thrown over my back =)
|
None of the above.
I dress for the situation or to be comfortable, rather than necessarily to look my "best," kind of like Columbo's raincoat, you know? I work in a setting where dressing my "best" means replacing expensive clothing regularly. |

Corduroy. fabric of kings.
|
Not for fat Kings, too noisy.
|
i wear suits to work most days.
outside of work i'm in shorts/jeans with a bowling shirt and vans most of the time. |
I love the way Vans look, but they are too narrow for me and they don't make a wide, the damn shit-heads.
|
Work - smart casual, which ranges from dress pants to jeans and button blouse to backless top.
Home - sweats or daggy shorts n sweater or tank top. Play - Always dress to show off the ...umm....assets. But it depends whether I am stone cold sober when I get dressed to go clubbing or a little tanked. If its the latter, you can guarantee its knee high boots, short skirt and a low cut top :D if I am sober its alot less slutty and alot more classy. |
When I go out I tend to wear leathers or black or olive Brooks Bros. or Armani suit. with a sweater or fitted T under.

You should have a black beret cap to complete that ensemble.
|
Happy thousandth post, Torrere!
Any new good poetry? rkzen, you cut quite the dashing figure! |

I'm not sure how many other Brit posters there are here....
I know of CycleFrance, who I think is in the south-east, and Limey up there on Arran..... but notwithstanding, I like your plan.... lets see if we can coax more Brits out of the woodwork... |
They can't type... hands broken from chasing cheese down a damn hill.

Jay - DanaC is in t'Naaarth, Jaguar (tho not around lately) in London, Czinzumerzet is in Somerset, ermmmmmm.... Sure I've missed someone significant! I might start a thread to lure them out. |
Work (m-f): Blue Jeans (good ones - no holes, spots, stains, etc..), T-Shirt (good one), White Cotton Socks, Tennis Shoes. Very simple wear because I have no idea what is going to happen next.
Home (m-f): Blue Jeans, usually a T-Shirt, sometimes a Polo, White Cotton Socks, Tennis Shoes. Home (weekends): Birthday suit with the wife til noon or so. :doit: |
Then there are those special times when its just a cock-ring and a clown hat.
|
See what I mean? Dashing. Totally dashing.
|
My fat-ass like that is many things... dashing? Um... no.
|
Hey, rk, while doggedly and successfully avoiding the mental image of your "fat-ass"...
I would agree with wolf's assessment. Dashing (or alluring or any other favorable adjective for that matter) is only partly a physical characteristic. Permit me to quote Elspode: Beauty is a sum, not a fraction. So is dashing. The corollary to this is "No matter how smokin' hot she is, some guy is tired of putting up with her shit." You've consistently demonstrated the attitude that includes "dashing". The clown hat is just the cherry on the top. |
Thanks... very kind of you... I concede.
|
Work in winter, slacks, dress shirt, tie often but not absolutely all the time.
Work in summer, chinos, dark-background Hawaiian shirts, tucked in for a neat outline. Sometimes a company polo shirt. Home, dress for the weather. In So-Cal, that means cargo shorts these last couple years. Cargo-pocket pants in a paramilitary -- or very remotely paramilitary: cargo pockets on velour jogging pants?! -- mode are very much in style since about 2002. T-shirts, or other shirts. |
Yesterday I did wear dirty jeans, Docs, studded belt with matching buckle, AC/DC shirt, leather biker jacket adorned with pin-up girl, chains and an over-sized bullet, topped-off with a misfits military hat. Black cane with a carved fake ivory bulldog head on it.
Felt naughty, I hope I got enough out of it... my last day out, out of the chair. |
I usually wear tops that are fairly sparse. That's mostly because the climate I live in lends itself to it. These are usually accompanied by shorts in summer or jeans in winter.
Work people cop a variation of the same outfits. |
