RULES FOR POSTING (ag'ers)

please take note of the lessons to be learnt from this highly education film.

(i'm not too sure if this has been posted here before but i thought it needed dusting off anyway)

:p
I already have a masters degree in the fine art of getting high...

don't think this instruction vid will help me much...

Kagen4o4 03-29-2006 03:14 AM

:lol2: now it's my turn to direct your attention to the other thread I just posted in... dialup... and such... :p

SteveBsjb 03-29-2006 05:35 AM

Why is it ALWAYS better to post in an existing thread than start a new one? I'd agree with that it is USUALLY better, but really, ALWAYS is such a strong word.

Anyway, I'm nothing like Billy in that informative film. I've been posting on message-boards for years, Kagen, maybe longer than you! Surprisingly the rules here are almost exactly like the other message boards I've frequented.

We AG'ers don't post our threads and abandon them, and we're usually quite topical and clever (so I think). But this was day one... part of day one is our testing you, while you evaluate us.

Some people here have a great dry wit, which truly is the soul of a message board. Some want to be helpie-helperton, but I guess that can't be avoided. Others wear corderoy pants and smoke pipes.

I think we injected some excitement here upon arrival, and given time Kagen, much like the United States of America saved Australia's butt in WWII (when England wouldn't send ships to protect your fine country, but the U.S did), AG'ers will help add a colorful (not colourful) new chapter to The Celler Home Base's.... oh well, I gotta go, my laptop battery is dying. But you all like long thoughtful posts right?

What are we, by the way? "Cellies?"

helps with the overall flow of the forums. one good thing leads to another. you dont want to keep jumping between threads to see where the conversation is going

SteveBsjb 03-29-2006 05:52 AM

:worried: Oops, re-read my post.

I edited while you responded.

SteveBsjb 03-29-2006 05:53 AM

Why don't I want to jump between threads to follow a conversation? Maybe I do.

im guessing by the soccer thread and this comment youre a flag waving american that believes you guys invented everything and saved everyone. dont forget that australia has a very small population and in terms of a ratio of population:effort in wars, australia has done a lot more. also, we saved your butt in your "war" on iraq. our SAS did so much over there that american news probably didnt focus on.

SteveBsjb 03-29-2006 06:19 AM

Dammit, it's SteveBsjb, not Stevebsbj.

I'm 37.

SteveBsjb 03-29-2006 06:20 AM

We Americans loved that Australia allied with us against Iraq. And I remember Australia's tribute after 9/11 (considering I live in NYC).

THANKS AUSTRALIA!

SteveBsjb 03-29-2006 06:21 AM

Although, I'm not that flag-waving any more. Bush is an embarassment, and we never should have gone into Iraq. WMD's! What a load! AG'ers helped me realize that.

SteveBsjb 03-29-2006 06:23 AM

That old joke? Okay, okay, it's new on Home Base.

Don't miss the other two posts i slipped in there.

Cellarites.

Too many threads drives me nuts. I read about 15% of the threads here. When I do, I read the whole thread and make some posts. Fully participate in few threads.

I prefer Focus over Multitasking. The only way to survive in 8 startup companies. Focused, yet agile.

SteveBsjb 03-29-2006 05:21 PM

Glad to hear that, Rock. I love message board politics. Obviously I've rankled some here. Shot in the arm, so to speak. Oh well, I've done worse. I'll try be part of your 15% though.

The preferred term is "Dwellars."

SteveBsjb 03-30-2006 09:53 AM

Cellar Dwellars... I like that better than Cellarites. "Cellies" sounds too much like Trekkies, I guess.

Although, I'm sure my application hasn't been approved yet for any of the above. But I do like Dwellars. :)

wolf 03-30-2006 10:45 AM

A "Cellie" (Celly, actually, spelling is not one of the strong suits of our local, state, and federal prisons) is the guy named Bubba who is eyeing you up to see how you might suit him, and is calculating how many packs of cigarettes he might be able to get by renting you to his friends.

SteveBsjb 03-30-2006 11:08 AM

How do you know that? Haha!

Ahhh grasshoppah, but the rest of us (and we outnumber you ;)) don't.

:D

SteveBsjb 03-30-2006 11:19 AM

;) I hear you.

On another note, do you live near Captain Kirk's hometown?

LabRat 03-30-2006 11:24 AM

Ahem, future hometown.

Riverside is about 15 minutes south of Iowa City, where I work. I live about 35 miles north of Iowa city.

SteveBsjb 03-30-2006 11:29 AM

Haha! Love that you knew that! I forgot the name of the town. I often wonder if there are any people living in that town with the last name of Kirk. Are they proud, and do they expect to be part of the lineage of the once and future Captain?

Nice to meet you, btw.

The closest thing to a Kirk.

They just haven't moved in yet. Give them time.
