@ Sundae:

'Look into my eyes, look into my eyes, the eyes, the eyes, not around the eyes, look into my eyes, look only into my eyes; and you're under. ..in a moment you will awaken and give me cheezeburgah. 3, 2, 1, you're back in the room'

Here's one for DanaC-
My bees actually survived their first winter. Must have done something right. Going to hive up a third tomorrow, chuffed is the word. :D

Awwwww. Oh thanks for the update nowhereman; and that brilliant photo! I can almost taste the honeycomb :P

What do you use to make the bees docile when you're taking the combs out? I think my Dad used hickory smoke. Something like that anyway. I can still get that smell, so strong, if I think back. Lovely.

There are many things that are used - pine needles, baling twine, compressed paper - I use cedar bedding chips like those used for hamsters, it's a nice cool smoke and I smell like the forest when done.

Luv the smell of freshly burnt cedar or pine. Mmm can almost smell it now.

DanaC 04-09-2010 09:22 AM

Always reminds me of the smell of puppy fur :P

nowhereman 04-09-2010 12:19 PM

Ah yes, the aroma of puppies roasting ...
