Ahhhh, I knew there would be owing involved.

Guys, i'm gonna be honest. I've tried to take pictures and just end up depressed. I guess I'm vain with no self-esteem, if that is somehow possible...because I can't stand pictures of me. To the point of tears, sometimes. Stupid, probably. I'm working on it.

I hear ya. I want to show off my hair which is awesome right now, but I can't do the whole posed picture thing and it looks crappy or isn't visible in the few incidental ones.

Actually, my hair was at it's awesomest yesterday, but then I swam and now it's a tiny bit green around the gills.... and have I mentioned how much I hate the swim cap? ugh I feel like a right twonk in it, but recently the pool has been bleaching the color right out, so I've had to start wearing it.

i wear a swim cap, goggles and swim fins. oh, and flippers.....and a nose clip.

what?

I use a swim cap (long hair) and goggles and have flippers, pullbuoy, and board. I guarantee no one looks as goofy as I do with a grapefruit sized wad of hair in a bun in the back of my swim cap.

waidaminnut. Jinx has a ton of hair...what does she do when she swims?? Although, even if she does the bun thing, I'd still win the geeky looking contest, cuz I don't fill out the rest of my suit as nicely as she does ;)

Edited to add this pic of my kid taken this summer on vacation. What a ham...

I do the big bun thing but no swim cap. I dont want to look like a dork, but more importantly they alway pull my hair and just hurt the whole time.
I dont swim so much as I do some cardio in the water, trying not to get my hair wet. Today I used a noodle and swam against the current created by the waterslide. Like the endless pool thing....

Are you kidding? Haven't you seen Drax's photo :yeldead: ?!? What are you worried about?

Oh wait...He hasn't posted one yet.
Nevermind.

Don't you lot have those lycra swim caps? They don't pull at all. Very comfortable actually if you ask me.

monster 02-09-2008 09:59 AM

I understand they don't protect from the chlorine as well.

Don't you have salt water pools?

monster 02-09-2008 01:39 PM

No.

monster 02-09-2008 01:40 PM

Apparently there's a new pool at the local college that uses some other chemical system, but it's been closed more than open due to chemical imbalances  And stinks.

lookout123 02-09-2008 01:44 PM

our home pool is salt water and i love it. not once in more 5 years has it been out of whack.

The gyms down here seem to be switching over too. It really is awesome, doesn't dry your skin out, burn the eyes, or leave you smelling like chlorine.

lumberjim 02-09-2008 02:27 PM

just watch out for the sharks

Clodfobble 02-09-2008 02:29 PM

We have three pools locally, and the second one just switched to salt water last summer. I love it! I was skeptical, thinking it would be like ocean water, but it's more like saline solution for contact lenses. No eye burning at all. I still have to rinse off in the shower to get my skin feeling normal, but I have to do that with chlorinated pools too. I hear they're cheaper in the long run, too. Maybe you should petition your pool to switch over, monster...
