Glatt and Merc are close enough ,
it is a pic of a rubbed hole in a copper hydrolic line , 2-3 other tech looked for 2 day for it , I found it in about 30 minuets , To show how small it is the ruler is a 6" scale 1/32' on top 1/64' on the bottom . http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2262/...df68a4a8_o.jpg |

Something that floats across the surface of my eyeball...
|
Looks like a string of penii.
But man I hate those things. |
|
I'd heard they were in the vitreous humor, which I do not find funny at all, but thought that was on the outside of the eyeball, not inner jelly.
So I guess spraying myself in the eyeball with a fire hose won't fix it. |
zippy, I hope that was not on a aircraft!

What is it? |
Fingernail.

Four minutes. glatt must be on a call.
HLJ, you're a winner!!! I recently bought an underwater enclosure for my camera, a Canon Powershot A710IS, and this Saturday I had a chance to take some pictures at the pool. This was one of them. It is some young girl's fake fingernail. The white stripe is on the underside, hidden in this view. Putting aside for a moment the kind of gross thoughts about what exactly I'm swimming in, like, say, detached (fake) fingernails, I do like the colors in this picture. It's better when resized smaller, like... 1/2 to 1/3 of the shot above. The overlapping layers of translucent blue seem to be additive in the bottom of the frame, and the hot pink is a nice contrast. I may repost this one and some others in the Underwater Photography thread for further discussion. |
if i were you i would adjust the WB on that a little towards the cool. the blues end up more like grays on that one.
|
Srsly, no offence, V, but how is it not obvious that that is a false fingernail?
|
mebbe its real...

You guys are all so funny!
Here are a couple slightly wider shots with dead giveaway clues. Then I'll tell. |
is it the Experience Music Project / Science Fiction Museum in Seattle?
|
You bet your bippy. Numerous images here. This one is excellent.
I must also say, I found it very very difficult to photograph. The skin in this section is polished to a mirror finish, as you can see by the reflection of the top of the Space Needle in the third shot, but the pink/purple/orange sections where they reflect only the blue sky look grainy and dirty. They are not. And the colors are... well, impossible to capture. Evoke, perhaps. Communicate, maybe. But it is a poor facsimile. T'was much fun to visit, and lovely to see, and maddening to photograph. |

1st one is the morning after camping in the rain, and the wet tarp is draped over the soggy camper's torso and legs.
2nd one is a flower blossom. |

Nice work as usual, glatt.
Yes, the first one is me. But I'm not actually soggy. Dewy, yes, soggy, no. It was soooo hot and humid that despite the clear skies, the air was heavy with moisture. It was warm enough to sleep under the stars and I took that rare chance. I made the yellow groundcloth/tarp you see here out of 1.1 oz silicone impregnated ripstop nylon. Very light, and quite waterproof. But I didn't count on how slippery it was (it is *very* slippery) and it didn't stay on all night. So I got a little damp. My down bag, the red/black underneath was wet on the surface too, but dry inside. The second picture is the base of a still-furled california poppy, taken on a walk to the grocery store the other day. The colors are incredible. Here's a complete uncropped shot. |
I wasn't sure if the dampness on the tarp was on the outside or inside. I've had it rain inside a tent on a few occasions where my breath condensed on the inside of the tarp on a cool night and then dripped down.

Correct!
Welcome to the cellar, Nagirroc. Curious... how did you know about those tools? I'm assuming you didn't just read through the thread... |

ok i have a good one.
any takers? |
That is a good one. My first thought is frog's eggs, but they are pretty jagged for that.
|
Looks like the stuff on the inside of one of those kid's kaleidoscopes.
|
If it's eggs, are the blue ones boys and the pink ones girls?
|
You'd think that, but to tell the sexes apart, you have to pull down their genes.
|
It's that damn glitter on greeting cards that gets all over you and invariably leaves a small speck of glitter just under your right eye and everyone looks at you like you're stupid. Or maybe that's just me.

Human cells of some kind.
|
mercenary is the closest so far...i think i'll let this keep going a bit longer.
|
I thought it had to do with sieve chromatography. They look like they are some kind of gelatin which is dyed.
|
when i get home from work today in 9 hours i will reveal exactly what it is
|
well fine...no ones guessing so i'll give a clue,
its from a female specimen |
Pap Smear!
|
nope, buh.
its urine. spun in a centrifuge, smeared on a slide then stained using the papanicolaou stain, the blue and pink cells are squamous cells, and the tiny blue/purple specks are bacteria. female specimens using have more squam's and bacteria because the urine comes in contact with more outside tissue than a male specimen |

well, it does seem a bit early for ice, so you just may be right.

Nope.
Yes, my fingers do appear in the shot. That's not enough, though, really. |
