The box for the wooden ornament:
Foamcore and tape, with magnets to hold it shut. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7846/...46e18ef2_z.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4886/...66ff9ffc_z.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7802/...ff6a047d_z.jpg |
Never thought I'd say this to a man, but...
...Nice box. |
Damn, the box rivals the gift. Very unusual unless the recipient is a cat. :haha:

At last, control for fun and safety...

Technically it helps you walk a stellated dodecahedron; the regular dodecahedron is the harness.

Mother's day present. Difficult to photograph. It phases from light on top to dark on the bottom. Made of a Giant brand tissue box. |

Large humans harness small humans. http://cellar.org/2012/bwekk.gif
|
True, but not with material made from humans.

I tried to find a picture of that Giant Brand Tissue Box but all I can find on Google is yellow/white with a little green. :(
|
I tried, too. What's really annoying is that if you put "-kleenex" in the search, it fills the first section of sponsored links with Kleenex.

Yes, have to stay away from brand names and names of anyone in sports or entertainment.
Ha, try to Google someone with the name Lannister. I didn't know there's a bazillion facial tissue box designs. |

One box was enough, with a fair bit to spare.
|
OK, I though the shading on the box was so varied you might not want the extreme light or dark.
|
I tried to make it fade from one end to the other.

Here are a couple of shots in progress:

HM, I'm sure you know all about this shit but it followed me home, and I can't keep it.

Polyhedra?
Never heard of her. |
|
A book with a 17 ft page? He is out there isn't he.

Reminds me of The Wall Chart of World History (From Earliest Times To The Present.

One of these for each of my siblings' families:
The big ones are for my littlest niece and nephew, and the center one is for my mom: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...e8ac2c6e_z.jpg And the box: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...26cd0785_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...62e3813c_z.jpg |
You are so good at that.
|
Iridescent party plates? Really?
|
These, though I found an 8-pack at a party supply store.
|
Wow, I've never seen those. I should buy some so I can get part of the zillion dollar settlement down the road when they determine they cause beriberi or something. ;)

A spiral of the iridescent and blue from the IBM annual report:

I'm lost, are the first two pictures the top and bottom view of the same item?
|
I think the first picture is he final thing and the second is a jump back in time to pre-completion (missing the piece in the third pic)
|
First is the top of the final product, second is the bottom view, but before the last piece was placed, showing the spiral on the inside. Third is the last piece.
|
OK, thanks. :thumb:
|
Pretty damn slick.
