The box for the wooden ornament:

Foamcore and tape, with magnets to hold it shut.

Never thought I'd say this to a man, but...

...Nice box.

xoxoxoBruce 12-29-2018 12:47 PM

Damn, the box rivals the gift. Very unusual unless the recipient is a cat. :haha:

At last, control for fun and safety...

Technically it helps you walk a stellated dodecahedron; the regular dodecahedron is the harness.

Mother's day present. Difficult to photograph. It phases from light on top to dark on the bottom. Made of a Giant brand tissue box.

Thank you.. A dog harness isn't made of dog, for example..

xoxoxoBruce 05-14-2019 10:17 PM

Large humans harness small humans. http://cellar.org/2012/bwekk.gif

BigV 05-15-2019 09:50 AM

True, but not with material made from humans.

I tried to find a picture of that Giant Brand Tissue Box but all I can find on Google is yellow/white with a little green. :(

Happy Monkey 05-17-2019 09:18 AM

I tried, too. What's really annoying is that if you put "-kleenex" in the search, it fills the first section of sponsored links with Kleenex.

Yes, have to stay away from brand names and names of anyone in sports or entertainment.
Ha, try to Google someone with the name Lannister.
I didn't know there's a bazillion facial tissue box designs.

Happy Monkey 05-19-2019 11:14 AM

This is the one:

Thank you, it was annoying me that I couldn't find that damn box. Did you do the entire piece with one box or need more?

Excellent, now get a stylish leash as you'll cut quite a figure walking your dodecahedron down the promenade. :thumb:

Happy Monkey 05-19-2019 02:28 PM

One box was enough, with a fair bit to spare.

xoxoxoBruce 05-20-2019 12:20 AM

OK, I though the shading on the box was so varied you might not want the extreme light or dark.

Happy Monkey 06-02-2019 01:48 PM

I tried to make it fade from one end to the other.

Happy Monkey 06-02-2019 01:49 PM

I made another one of these:

HM, I'm sure you know all about this shit but it followed me home, and I can't keep it.

Gravdigr 08-27-2019 09:42 AM

Polyhedra?

Never heard of her.

Happy Monkey 08-27-2019 09:59 AM

Interesting

xoxoxoBruce 08-27-2019 10:23 AM

A book with a 17 ft page? He is out there isn't he.

Happy Monkey 08-27-2019 03:19 PM

Reminds me of The Wall Chart of World History (From Earliest Times To The Present.

Happy Monkey 12-27-2019 01:40 PM

One of these for each of my siblings' families:

The big ones are for my littlest niece and nephew, and the center one is for my mom:

And the box:

fargon 12-27-2019 01:42 PM

You are so good at that.

xoxoxoBruce 12-27-2019 04:12 PM

Iridescent party plates? Really?

Happy Monkey 12-28-2019 03:44 PM

These, though I found an 8-pack at a party supply store.

xoxoxoBruce 12-28-2019 03:52 PM

Wow, I've never seen those. I should buy some so I can get part of the zillion dollar settlement down the road when they determine they cause beriberi or something. ;)

Happy Monkey 06-04-2020 09:56 PM

A spiral of the iridescent and blue from the IBM annual report:

A peek inside before I put on the last star:

The final star:

xoxoxoBruce 06-04-2020 10:20 PM

I'm lost, are the first two pictures the top and bottom view of the same item?

monster 06-04-2020 11:35 PM

I think the first picture is he final thing and the second is a jump back in time to pre-completion (missing the piece in the third pic)

Happy Monkey 06-05-2020 09:32 AM

First is the top of the final product, second is the bottom view, but before the last piece was placed, showing the spiral on the inside. Third is the last piece.

xoxoxoBruce 06-10-2020 12:34 AM

OK, thanks. :thumb:

Griff 06-10-2020 06:41 AM

Pretty damn slick.
