What a great shot of the two of you! Honest to God, you still seem to be aging backwards, Cherry.

Lovely plumage, Sundae!

The two of you look great!

Very nice pic.

And Clod is right.

What people? I don't see any people. Cue Twilight Zone music

So lovely to see a happy Sundae, and a great pic with Classy Carruthers, there, too! X

Hey Carruthers, has anyone ever told you that you look like the guy that played the father in the TV show Alf? From the 80's I think it was.

I had to admit I needed help with seeing little words, and also fine detail on cakes so went and got myself some reading glasses. The lady tried to sell me some fancy $400 package with designer frames. I mentioned that I didn't think anyone would care what my glasses look like and how bout showing me the cheapest set they had. This was them. $39 all up!

No glasses could detract from your radiance.
$39? Was that from an eye testing place like an optician's office?
The last time I went it was over $800 for glasses and sunglasses, but I also have a couple of pair of $5 "reading" glasses from the drug store. They work for specific tasks like on my computer where bifocals are a pain.

I, too, need reading glasses. I paid five bucks for basic glasses, ugly as original sin. I don't let anyone see them tho. :)

In Australia, you can go to an optometrist and get your eyes checked 'for free' every two years under our public health system. The prescription is free also. All you pay for is the frames which were $39.

When I say free, it's not an out of pocket expense for the consultation etc, but it is built into our tax system. Kids also get up to $1000 of 'free' dental work too. Each year. Each child.

Ali - I like the naughty librarian look. Your highlights are quite flattering

The last time I got new glasses (4 years ago), the office wanted $600.00 just for the progressive lenses. Checked out Costco Optical - $220.00 for frames and lenses. Just ordered new glasses last night - $365.00 for a pair of progressive lenses and frames, and a pair of single vision lenses and frames (for the computer, I was doing the "bobble head" trying to focus on the screen with the progressives.
Apparently, none of their frames are over $100.00. Mine were $59.95 each.

If you're really cost-conscious, you can get perfectly good and fashionable glasses online for $20-$40 total. But I have a messed up face that is not of normal proportions, and also I have huge psychological hang ups connecting glasses to all my childhood bullying experiences... Long story short, I pay a lot for custom frames that actually fit my face, and then I keep them for a decade.
