OK, fine:
What band had the first rap album to go to Number 1 on the charts, in 1987? |
Beestie Boys?
Beastie Boys it is!
"She's crafty, and she's just my type!" Your turn! |
Here's an easy one.
The King of Rock is Elvis The King of Pop is Michael Jackson The Godfather of Soul is James Brown The Chairman of the Board is Frank Sinatra The Prince of Darkness is Ozzy Osbourne The Boss is Bruce Springsteen Who is God? |
Alanis Morissette
Ha! Actually, I was thinking Clapton. But you are correct.
Your turn. |

Oh man... I got nuthin' here.... uhhh What's the best selling album of all time? |
Thriller --Michael Jackson?
No, that's #2.
Dark Side of the Moon or Rumours.
Neither.
It's got to be something like "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby, but that's a single.
I'm going to go with Sgt. Pepper, but I think that's wrong. |
Led Zeppelin -- Houses of the Holy?
Eagles. :D
eagles greatest hits!
You're up Ibram.
Oh man, i missed bruce's post, i think he should go, shouldnt he?
It doesn't matter to me, but I was asking for the album not the band.
Well, okay, I'll go, then.
How can you tell Steve Vai's Ibanez from Paul Gilbet's Ibanez? |
Seven Strings. (Vai has a Low B, I think.)
Well, vai does have the Universe series...
To clarify, how can you tell Vai's JEM from Gilbert's sig? |
Crap, I'm just a drummer. I thought I had that one.
EDIT: You know what, out of curiosity, since I thought you said I was wrong, I Googled "Paul Gilbert Signature" and it does only have six strings. So, I was right. Maybe not the answer you expected, though. |
Yeah, but see, the Universe isn't really Vai's signature, it's more like the sister guitar to the Jem that Vai helped design. It's a distinction I should have made, for clarity. But madd propz for knowing that Vai pioneered modern 7-string use.
I have a question ready to go. Can we get a ruling on this?
EDIT1: I just read your last post. Thanks. Passion And Warfare is one of my desert island albums. EDIT2: I still think I correctly answered the specific question you asked, though. |
I'm sorry, but the 7-string Universe isn't really Vai's sig, and he doesn't play it very often at all, either.
You didn't specify "signature" guitars. He frickin' invented it, to me that makes it "his."
I am going to flip a coin. Heads, it's your turn; Tails, we wait. It doesnt affect me either way, so I have no reason to lie.
Tails... Sorry, man. Difference between the Jem and the PG. |
It isn't a coin-flip issue. You asked a question and I answered it.

Your answer was not correct, see my comment about Gilbert also playing 7-strings sometimes. Playing the axe sometimes, having one, even designing it doesnt make it HIS. The Jem is HIS, the Universe is just a side thing. I'm sorry, dude, but the 7-string is not what sets Vai apart from Gilbert.
godammm....... I guess even music tirivia can turn into a heated debate.... (cue mrs. Merton....)
So, what is the difference.... |
Quote:
Steve Vai invented a seven-string guitar, for Ibanez. "Steve Vai's Ibanez" Presumably, whoever Paul Gilbert is, he plays an Ibanez also. In fact, he has a signature Ibanez. "Paul Gilbert's Ibanez" Whether you were refering to a "signature" guitar or not was not specified. However, Steve Vai actually invented a guitar for Ibanez. "Steve Vai's Ibanez" is a seven string. "Paul Gilbert's Ibanez" is not. That's a difference. Quote:

But STEVE VAI'S IBANEZ IS NOT A 7-STRING. He HAS an Ibanez that has seven strings, but so does Gilbert. Therefore the answer is not valid.
You didn't specify, in the question, whether you meant a "signature" guitar, or a guitar that the person actually invented. I answered the question, in it's original form, correctly. You can't make new rules up after I already answered correctly.
Vai has designed more than one model of guitar, and did not invent the 7-string guitar. Please, Flint, just STOP.
:corn:
But Ibram, if Flint didn't answer the question, and you have since given the correct answer to prove he didn't, doesn't that mean we're all still waiting for you to give us a new question?
No, I didn't give the correct answer; However, I did clarify that Vai's guitar is the Jem and Gilbert's is the PGM.
Vai has a whammy bar?
Quote:
:::whispers::: But you didn't specify which one, in the original queston, did you? |
So, what is the question? :p
Now, THAT answer... While not what I was looking for, IS correct.
Steve Vai's Jem: http://img433.imageshack.us/img433/2047/jemsq9.png Paul Gilbert's PGM: http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/thumbs/PGM301WH.jpg I was LOOKING for 'Vai's has a monkey grip and Gilbert's has painted F-holes', but, the Jem does have a trem, and the PGM has a fixed bridge... Your turn |
Cool. You know I was just kidding around, right?
My question: Who performed the voice of Bald-Headed John, on the Frank Zappa album Joe's Garage? |
Steve Vai?
Paul Gilbert?
ha ha ha . . . no.
 Ummm...
Telly Savalas? (Sorry, don't have a clue so I have to be facetious! I'm a smart-ass) |
Flo?
Eddie? Frank? Dweezle? Ahmed? Joe? Ringo Starr? |
Williiam S. Burroughs (I have no idea, I just think he was cool. And he was bald. And appears on other people's albums.)
Tom Smothers was bald too. Was it him?
Some good guesses, but nobody got it yet.
Gallagher?
I looked it up, and nobody is going to get it, but I enjoyed the answer. I liked a lot of what that guy did. Give them some hints flints
I'm perfectly willing to give hints on this one, I was just testing the waters for a litttle while. Let me just say: Steve Vai was actually a very good guess.
Satch? He wasnt bald back then, but he is now...
No, and it's not Michael Bolton either.
The musician or the Office Space guy?
It's not both of them.
