Bah, time is a human construct, based on natural phenomena. There's nothing more natural than a man drinking, so let them alter the time construct to fit that natural phenomena.

It's amazing how Ginger Ale can be so good or so bad. When I was a kid it's the first thing I noticed adults having strong allegiance to a brand name.

If the word Ginger does not appear in the list of ingredients (look for the % to be at least 15 - 20). Then it's just ginger flavored hfcs.

Plenty of good brands - just look for the percent and cane sugar in the ingredients.

I actually prefer the cheapest I've found, IGA/PriceLess' store brand. 76 cents for two liters.

I like Canada dry Ginger Ale. That and just carbonated water are my two alternatives to Diet Coke in the soft drink department. Ginger beer has a real bite

Ginger beer is actually fermented (like beer) but has almost no alcohol. Ginger ale is carbonated water with ginger flavoring. If you get Ginger ale, check the label - some ginger ales (Canada Dry for a while) didn't have any ginger in it (due to public criticism, they now put a token amount of ginger in it - enough to include it in the list of ingredients).

And, yes, ginger beer burns on the way down. Some folks think it helps with digestion (maybe that's why they serve it with sushi).

There is a resemblance to something I've tasted before, and, I cannot identify the something it resembles, other than to say it tastes like mouthwash.

The first swallow is good. Refreshingly so. After that first swallow, though, I'm done with it.

I'm glad, too. Costs too damn much for as much as I'd drink if I liked it as well as ginger ale.

I have a cheap and unsophisticated palate, apparently.

Back to IGA/Priceless.

You have got to be a "Real" man to drink wake up juice. Once a long, long time ago... I was sitting with friends at the Bob's Big Boy on 17th Street in Santa Ana Ca. And Turkey (not his real name, the names were changed to protect the guilty.) bet me that I couldn't drink a water glass full of Tabasco Sauce with out puking. Since $20.00 was on the line, I was forced by nature to take said bet. Well to make a long story short. I didn't puke, I farted and cleared the restaurant. Our waiter Rudy the Rude said "i'm in the presence of greatness". The Manager was heard to exclaim that he also was in the "presence of greatness" And since these people had just come in nobody was bummed to see them go.

but right now, I've summoned The Kraken!

I love The Kraken. Mix it up w/ some good ginger ale and maybe a splash of cranberry or lime juice.

Reed's is good but because it is pricey, I opt for Goslings - a six pack of cans is about 4 bucks.

Vintage Wild Cherry Seltzer - it was on sale 2 for $1.00 for the 1 quart sized bottles.
