Oh ya? Well, uh, ya. Damn. You're good. Too good. Let's see here, hmmm . . . . . . okay, that's it, I've checked with everybody and they said go ahead with it! |
Well that would require a rules change. But Robert's Rules of Order specifically states that if proxy voting is to be used, that must be determined very early in the process. Otherwise, a voter can call for proxies at the last minute to effect the result. It's very strict about proxies.

Robert's Rules? Robert's Rules "hate freedom" . . .
UT, Does Robert's Rules say anything about disqualification from being nominated?
No it only covers how meetings operate in general, how deliberative bodies deliberate, that sort of thing.
I accept if it is possible to do a good job without consistent email access. If not, then I think there's already a pretty good pool of nominees.
How do deliberative bodies deliberate? Deliberately.
I accepted, but did admit that I would be largely unavailable to do a good job for a couple of weeks, so I should probably continue to be left off the list. There's plenty of good ones there anyway.
I really don't think you need the email prompting; one could just get away with deleting spam on reading the new posts, and still be a good mod. We're not that deluged (yet)
Sorry El, I didn't mean to miss your acceptance.
No offense taken. If I wasn't going to be gone to festival/funeral for the next ten or twelve days, I'd love to participate. It was an honor to be nominated.
UT:
Don't take him off the ballot, I'm gonna vote for him. We can hold our breath for 12 days. Small price to pay. |
I would be happy to serve as a substitute when needed.
If somebody is going to be offline for a while they could let me know and I would be happy to fill in for them. |
