I've got a lovely pic of Bruce, though, as I've said before, he looks a lot like Big V in this pic:

One of the things I wanted to do on this trip was to get my dad back in the saddle. He sold his 3 years ago because he never rode it. But I knew he missed it. He got every update you guys did and more during the rehab.

Yesterday, he rode and stongly approved of how it handles. He's proud, I'm proud.

He talked about renting a bike and coming along, but his shoulder needs a new shoulder, so long trips are out.

Another thing I want to do is take a picture here :

The tail of the Dragon.

That's him and Biff about 25 years ago.

Setting out today on the solo leg of this ride. Amanda had to stay home cuz new job.

How old is Pop now, Jim? Seems like I remember he's like 70-72?

lumberjim 08-09-2017 03:50 PM

Just turned 76

I... have a picture in my mind of Bruce. I.... have been trying to forget it ever since.

Oh I see, you just had to go somewhere it wasn't flat. Well I can bet you had more traffic. Nothing like the rush hour traffic down heah.

Had great rides in these hills (Asheville) yesterday, and made some new friends. I miss Amanda, but I'm having fun. Her favorite cat is sick and may be dying, so it's better that she's home with him, but what a bummer for her. I'm out having fun, and she's miserable. I feel guilty.

And I miss her.

:( Sorry to hear that. Losing a furbaby is awfully tough.
Its been 2 years for me and I'm just not totally ready to get another.
I realize the one lil guy I still have is 12 and home alone and lonely.
Gonna have to make a few visits to the shelters.

The problem with riding solo is seeing something cool and nobody to point it out to or talk with about it later. Bet she would have looked better wet than you two drowned rats. :yesnod:

Gravdigr 08-10-2017 01:26 PM

Those two could be covered in money and Amanda would still look better than either of them.

Never too old to get back in the saddle. One of the Unclesdigr bought his first bike at 81. Kept it about six months. He fell over with it in the driveway and gave it to his son.:lol2:

Who had three bikes already.:yelsick:

Gravdigr 08-10-2017 01:33 PM

BTW:

Hope the shoulder work goes well.

Popdigr needs work on his to fix (what they think is) a SLAP tear, but everyone he talks to who has had the work done says "NO WAY" would they do it again knowing the pain/rehab/healing time involved, they'd rather live with the original pain.
