I get tired of typing girlfriend and I'm not going to use her real name. I could use something else, I suppose.

Her works, I'm just being cruel/humorous.;)

That's what I figured. I have trouble deciding what to call her in here. I was just responding as much to my own thoughts about my choice as your comment.

"gf" works.

This weekend I relaxed on Friday and went to a bunch of parties with a guy-girl ratio of 20:1 then almost got in a fight on Saturday. Disappointing but still fun.

We had a very nice brunch downtown today. Afterwards, we were walking around, enjoying the pleasant weather...and happened across a stuffed toy duck sprawled on the sidewalk, with a chalk line drawn around it!

MonkeyBoy knelt down and attempted 'CPR' (by poking it a little). Heartless passerby giggled. A guy on a bike sped by and called out, "he's not breathing!" Soon we gave up and went on our way. What a fun and funny day it was so far.

So, we turned down a side street, laughing it up. But suddenly, parody flipped over into reality.

The woman we saw laying on the sidewalk was in a weird position--kneeling, with her face planted on the ground, and her arms at her sides. At first, I thought she was dead. But on closer inspection, she was still breathing...barely. She'd nearly polished off the industrial-size bottle of vodka that was sitting on the steps behind her. We called the EMTs and they came to pick her up, and tried to revive her...but I have a feeling that she may still be out at this hour.

Worked twice, went to Six Flags Atlanta on a whim once, transcribed a 2 hour focus group, talked to my baby-cakes (yeah, i said baby-cakes) for several hours in between. All in all, a super productive week-end.

Hm. I don't recall being at that party...but, then, I never do.

Disassembled the too-high and wobbly loft bed from my stepdaughter's room, successfully sold it on Craigslist, disassembled the "guest" bunk bed (eventually supposed to be the toddler's, but we'll deal with that when the time comes) and dragged it down the hall to be reassembled in her room. Seriously pruned back the four fig trees and trimmed all the little branch sprouts from all the other trees. Dragged all those branches to the patio so the lawn could be mowed today. Very tired.

Helped a friend move furniture and a piano and paint his attic. Sore now.

Worked on house project Saturday morning. Then kid's soccer game, then block party. Yesterday biked 5 miles with 5 year old son.

Is that like running track with a backpack full of weights?

Shawnee123 09-17-2007 12:48 PM

41 women and you the only guy? Or were you all like "YO, women, get a move on will ya?" j/k

You all put me to shame. I accomplished next to nothing this weekend! (slinks back under rock.)

There are so many replies to this which could prove detrimental.
