I have always been in touch with my inner geek, and I have the pile of Star Trek Memorabilia to prove it.

I think you have become the victim of assumption based on clumsy phrasing on my part ... What I was saying was that there was a test for "find your high school clique," which accurately sorted me into Ravenclaw ... I mean geek/nerd.

well I could have told you that :P

I would have graduated my junior year. Not really smart but dedicated enough of a book worm I could have skipped a grade for the second time in my life.

That is until I ventured into another kind of learning.:D http://images.quizfarm.com/110704146...3079_thumb.jpg

IF I were to choose a totem it would be the Dragon for it's primal energy and strength. I like to cut right through the chaff and get right to the meat of the matter so I respect the dragon. It's been around for a long long time.

But you don't get to choose ... you get chosen.

Actually I don't think the symbolism of the dragon can be given or taken. Like the pentagram and the cross can't be a totem in the typical sense because it is just a symbol of energy. I just happen to think the dragon symbol is primordial energy. I think animals posses a spirit. I don't believe energy is a singular spirit.

That's why I said IF because I don't think it is possible to have only to harness.
I've never chosen a totem 'for real' either but if the dragon were possible to have I would chose it. I should have said I didn't actually think it was possible before.

I am drawn to the symbolism of it. More so than the thought of any 'totem' ever could. I know my strengths. Having seen the wolf and the swimming thing for what it means I see that those strengths I do have but have 'no power' in themselves.

I am kind of rambling. Hope that makes a little sense. I got brain fog happening.

I'm not sure I want to know mine.......

Brain fog is better than a brain cloud. You might have to find a volcano to get healed.

...but...but....I thought it was....you know....* whispers* the captain howdy doll?

[edit- not doll! I know it's the spirit thing. It just inhabited her doll once. I thought that was the scariest part. I saw that dang movie when I was 13]

funny, got a chuckle out of me but then I was thinking that volcanos have to deal with nasty 'getting thrown into the volcano'rituals and that's just not my style:P

My totem is the nightmare rabbithead creature from Donnie Darko.....
either that or a bearded collie.

footfootfoot 06-13-2006 06:27 PM

Breaded Collie?
Do you want fries with that?

DanaC 06-14-2006 03:41 AM

Heheh. Bearded. Similar to Border Collie but way more hair. Only chosen because I own a bearded collie (known by colllie owners as 'beardies').
He stays on guard for me....and only ever expects lots of treats, cuddles and hour long walks in the country in return.

xoxoxoBruce 06-14-2006 05:33 PM

Hell, I'd take that job.
