I see a pretty dog. Congrats sugar.

Yes, she's a beauty. :thumb:

Magnificent dog.

Shawnee123 06-28-2009 09:38 AM

She looks so sweet. From where did you adopt her? She's happy now!

sugarpop 06-28-2009 04:24 PM

I got her from the Humane Society. I've been volunteering there and she came in, and I've always wanted a husky. :) I took her home the day she came out of quarantine.

Merc, yes, I'm using photobucket. Didn't know you couldn't see them using that. sorry. :(

capnhowdy 06-28-2009 04:43 PM

I've done a lot of volunteer work at our local shelter. That was the hardest thing in the world not to bring them all home with you.

sugarpop 06-28-2009 04:48 PM

My cats are more than a little upset about it. I hope they will adapt soon. They are used to dogs, so hopefully it won't be a long, drawn out process.

Chocolatl 06-29-2009 08:47 AM

Congrats, sugarpop! She's beautiful. What's her name?

DanaC 06-29-2009 08:50 AM

Oh! How adorable! Lovely addition sugar:)

sugarpop 07-04-2009 10:41 PM

Her name is Blue. I might change it though. Our chow's name is Boo, and they sound too much alike. Plus I keep forgetting it. It doesn't seem to suit her. Is it hard on an animal to change their name? Does it confuse them?

She is SUCH a sweetheart!

xoxoxoBruce 07-04-2009 11:13 PM

Do it, Blue is not right for that pup. :headshake

Our Cats,Hector (Ginger and White) and Jasper (Not Ginger and White),who we're both missing terribly at the minute.

They're both a pair of old-timers,with only 3 teeth left between them, who we adopted from a local hotel when the old owner moved out and the new owner didnt want them.

Hector is,unfortunately, quite insane, having lived 10 of his 15 years with nothing but a large bouncy dog and a blanket for company,he's extremely vocal and affectionate.Jasper acts his age a bit more, isnt very sociable (he lived on the other side of the hotel, his life's possessions consisted of an old jumper stuffed in a fruit box, which was his bed, when we rescued him),enjoys going outside (only in the summer) and is the proud owner of the remaining 3 teeth, and loves being brushed.

Diminished, they are beauties!
How can people treat cats that way - they need stimulation, variety and lots of attention. Seems the old idea that all a cat wants is food is hard to die.

Glad they're getting some real love in their twilight years.

Chocolatl 07-05-2009 10:16 AM

Sugarpop, she doesn't look like a Blue to me either. I've read that dogs don't really care if you change their name, but it'll take a few days to teach them what their new name is. Have some treats in your hand -- call the new name and whenever she turns to look at you, reward her.

Here's Tiny again, relaxing with Kitsune on the couch.

Oh my, I can see he's being spoiled rotten.

You should have a talk with Tiny, and explain if he keeps spoiling him, you'll never get him off the couch. ;)
