Plenty of drooling and biting, but no teeth just yet. At least the initial frenzy has died down!

Ali, how about a pic of all four kids? :)

BigV 01-09-2013 08:57 AM

Yeah Ali, how ABOUT pictures of all four kids, hmm?

BigV 01-09-2013 12:11 PM

to Chocolatl and Aliantha

I carried SonofV in a sling for a long time, back in the day and I loved it. Here's a link to show how to carry a young baby on your back or side with a single piece of cloth. I hope you enjoy the link, however you carry the baby.

Aliantha 01-10-2013 02:27 AM

I'll post a pic of the whole lot of them soon Choco. Good luck with the teething then. lol

V, I used a sling often with Max. He loved it. Eva isn't so impressed, but maybe she'll get used to it. It's pretty hot weather here since she was born, so maybe she just gets hot. Not sure. I used it with Max till he was almost 2.

Chocolatl 01-10-2013 07:52 PM

We've got a front carrier that I use fairly often. Beans wasn't too impressed with the sling, either -- I think we suffer from the same heat problem.

OMG Classic, The son on the right is like mini-classic. Gorgeous kids, good thing you've got two flankers for your dau.

Triliobyte: That's a handsome boy. His hat's on backwards. Is he in the music business? Does he call you dude?

glatt 01-16-2013 09:49 AM

I love these cellar offspring!

infinite monkey 01-16-2013 09:50 AM

He really is mini-Classic!

Nice lookin' kid, Trilby. Tell him I said 'yo.' :)

Clodfobble 01-16-2013 11:12 AM

I love these pictures of older kids. One, because you can really see the resemblance to their parent dwellars more, and two, because even though people start to get tired of you by the time you've been around for a dozen years, big kids need just as much attention as the adorable little'uns.

thanks.
Yes.
No.
No.

He's a die-hard baseball/football/basketball fan.

he's also a ref for basketball and an ump for baseball. he actually got certified at OSU! But he's a business major so all he cares about is money and really horribly superficial women and working out. But he's my precious and I loves him. He's also a rabid Christian Republican. We have interesting talks.

Trilby 01-17-2013 06:33 AM

He's quite the social butterfly. Looks happy!

Sundae 01-17-2013 08:45 AM

Shoot, babba - I thought I saw me in my twenties there, with pink hair.
No more pics of Mr Hottie please, you know how I am about gingers. It's inappropriate and you would have to slap me upside the head.

Seriously though, you squeezed out two fine boys.

He's the one with (what was) crippling OCD and I had to kick him out.

Best thing I ever did for him. He's in a job he ADORES with loads of friends (all circus people, like him; so, all weird) and he lives with an ex Ben-Gal cheerleader in Cincy - which he loves. he says dayton is soooooo boring now's he's seen cincinnati! lol!

thanks, Sundae. They are my precious. They are my amethyst and opal. they are my suns.

I see what you did there.

Both very handsome guys, and how lucky that Danny has found something he's passionate about and so obviously enjoys!

classicman 01-17-2013 09:45 PM

classicman 01-17-2013 11:15 PM

Thanks, thats nice of you to say.

Big Sarge 01-17-2013 11:57 PM

Yeah! They're always looking for a good panda! you'd have to move to Cincinnati, though.

Trilby 01-18-2013 07:03 AM

you know, brown eyes in my family is considered very exotic.

we've only three brown eyed people in our whole extended family!! that's weird.

Clodfobble 01-18-2013 09:12 AM

Glad to hear he's come to grips with the OCD, one way or another. He does look very happy in his new situation. Good for you, Tril.

Undertoad 01-18-2013 09:55 AM

Pink hair and biguns in both people pics... Sundae is watching over him

You know, after I posted that he had crippling OCD so I kicked him out I realized that sounded rather cruel if you didn't know the machinations I went thru to get that boy help. Three different docs told him he had OCD and here's the med for it---he refused the med and disparaged all three docs with , "They think I'm crazy!!!" I was there in the room with them. Nobody said 'crazy' at all. He refused to go to a therapist I offered to pay for----and a good one, at that, which is no easy feat to find. Refused. When he came at me, all 6' 6" of him, I told him to get out or I'd call the police. He was pissed and that was all last Jan. He's seeing a therapist on his own now but I am forbidden to talk / ask about it, which is fine. Once he didn't have a punching bag to blame all his mojo on he had to deal with it. That's how all that came about.

Clodfobble 01-18-2013 12:15 PM

Oh I remember, you posted a lot about it at the time. You put up with a hell of a lot before you finally had to do the tough love thing.

Sundae 01-18-2013 12:17 PM

6'6".
Can I swoon any more...?

BigV 01-18-2013 01:29 PM

this wonderful result might have seemed unimaginable at the time. I love a story with a happy ending (middle? current episode?) :)

believe me-you don't want to.

he's 22. Yuck. I like my men with some seasoning on them, ya know?

ZenGum 01-18-2013 05:28 PM

I'm wondering about a stage magician with OCD. Does he always pull two rabbits out of the hat?

footfootfoot 01-18-2013 06:30 PM

he just keeps pulling it out over and over

Trilby 01-19-2013 07:56 AM

Actually the OCD helps with the training---doing the same trick over and over and over until it's perfect. It's the "magic" rituals that finally got to me. If he enters a certain room he has to do a ritual with his feet or hands (something he thinks other people don't notice but I notice) and he's weird about food (as you can see he's a bit on the thin side) all he has to do is take one little pill a day and these compulsions would go away but he won't do it. He thinks he should be able to OUT THINK his own brain wiring. Like a depressed person willing themself out of depression. All I know is that willing yourself out of chemical nuttiness doesn't work BUT he is better.

footfootfoot 01-19-2013 01:01 PM

I once willed myself out of a broken ankle. It took me 8 weeks in a cast, but I was finally successful!

j/k But that is kind of how my wife thinks. She still thinks a) she's not depressed and b) Depression is a weakness of character.

that's what Danny thinks, too.

It drives me batty when he doesn't have to suffer but insists that he does.

Pico and ME 01-19-2013 06:16 PM

He has the perfect 'entertainers' face Tril. I hope this sustains him for a long while, since he loves it so much.

thanks. He is charming when he wants to be. and he has a good smile.

it's funny--when I was pregnant with him his father (who has dark brown hair) said, "He'd better not have red hair!" (my family has it) and what do you know- I got a redhead anyway!

Trying to settle the argument with my aunt of who my daughter looks like, I pulled this together. That's me on the left and Kitsune on the right.

Aliantha 02-10-2013 09:08 PM

I'm going to say Kitsune, but there's obviously plenty of you in there Choco.

ZenGum 02-10-2013 09:20 PM

The facial expression makes Beans match Kits more, but with a smiling photo of you, that might reverse.

Chocolatl 02-14-2013 07:17 PM

I think she looks like Kitsune way more than me. It's funny, though, because people say she either looks JUST like me or JUST like him. No one says "Oh, a good mix!"

Either way, I'm not sure where her abject cuteness comes from.

I think the sunglasses help with the cute bit. lol Could be those chubby cheeks too though. ;)

Griff 02-15-2013 06:23 AM

I've had people tell me my girls look just like me, then they meet Pete and suggest I wasn't there at all...

Clodfobble 02-15-2013 07:26 AM

My mother-in-law seems to think that the highest compliment you can give someone is that their children resemble them. She is most especially determined to do this when the child is mixed-race like two of her grandchildren. Someday she's going to start marveling in the grocery store at the cross-racial resemblance of what turns out to be an adopted child, I'm just waiting with bated breath.

I noticed older Asians do the same. My mom said we should say the baby looks like the dad so his side of the family would love the baby. It's usually the mother's side of the family who loves and care for the baby more. I don't know about this society, but for Vietnamese, the woman goes home to her mother to give birth and to be taken cared for.
