I love that video. It's the last time Chevy Chase was funny, though, which is kind of a shame.

If you want a sales job I have one. I'm not sure it can make you a full living, but part of one yes

wolf 04-25-2011 05:42 PM

I am not yet so desperate that I am willing to take a sales job. If it's a regular corporate setting, I'm more interested in EAP type services.

You can have any position you want...

I appear to have qualified for unemployment. The letter from the state is confusing, mainly, I think, because the same Determination of Benefits letter goes to my former employer and includes instructions for their appeal process, which they have stated they will not attempt.

I activated my state credit card thingy today, and it does say I have money on the card. I have a desire to go out and buy something frivolous. Like food.

Don't waste the money on food. You will only enjoy it for a few minutes and then it is over. I'd suggest you use your money to buy socks. You can never have too many and in todays economy......

I have sock ingredients in the house ... double pointed needles, sport weight yarn, and a set of piss-poor instructions, which is why they are only ingredients at this point.

I'm busy crocheting a shawl for a friend's upcoming birthday right now.

YAY you!

The fact they are not going to appeal it means they don't have a case!

Yes, buy food and socks!

limey 05-08-2011 02:41 PM

Buy food. Knit socks (I'll help you with the latter task).

catbaby 05-08-2011 11:13 PM

do not let this make you feel shitty about yourself.you said yourself that you were there a long time without planning to be.you can apply for unemployment on line and to strengthen your position with them, have some brochurage for classes to update your skills(whether or not you intend to go).maybe this was to keep you from getting complacent.by all means fight, but be always moving forward in even the smallest ways.chin up.....even with a trembling bottom lip.
