[drift]Sky I love your user title "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing" (I've quoted it to preserve it here for posterity)[/drift]

Great! Congratulations, plt! 3 bucks is not too big a deal when you are going from working at the track to engineering. When do you start, then?

It's Helen Keller. I liked it too. It is to remind me that complacency is somewhere in the middle.

Here are more quotes from her you might like.

@ plt. I agree with kerosene.

Off topic question. Do YOU use much calculus in engineering?

drfroth 01-27-2011 02:52 PM

Way to go bro... surprised I had to read about it here rather than getting a text from you...

Oh well... great news all the same. I guess you will no longer be in danger of getting plowed by the little bastards at work.

I heard they were going to replace you with a wheelchair bound midget with only one arm to increase productivity in the pit...hahaha.

Just kidding. You will be missed. Good luck with the new gig.

plthijinx 01-27-2011 08:50 PM

:lol2: froth? the midget, if he has my radio quality voice, can do the job! just put him on the mic. i will miss this job. but i won't be quitting quite yet. i will work both jobs for about a month or so. at least until i catch up on debts. after that....i will be able to come watch your bands' gigs! i'm super excited about that!

@sky, no not really. well i personally never have. i'm electrical so there's really no use for it. we have charts and tables and spreadsheets to figure out what's needed. be it cable size, wire size, conduit fill, cable tray fill....the list goes on....

at kero and all....still waiting on the date. i thought i was going to start last monday but my job shop and the firm are in contract negotiations so that's why i'm kinda up in the air. the email though i received yesterday confirmed that i do indeed have the job.

Clodfobble 01-27-2011 10:22 PM

Awesome! Way to go plthijinx!

plthijinx 02-03-2011 03:53 PM

I am still interested in Plthijinx – the holdup is the big project with the Army Corps of Engineers has not been awarded as promised – we are now told it will be Feb 7.

TheMercenary 02-03-2011 04:28 PM

Congrats mate! Well done!

SO when and were are you moving for the job?

zippyt 02-03-2011 04:36 PM

Damn Gubment !!! ;)

plthijinx 02-03-2011 05:39 PM

@merc - that remains to be seen. i would like denver because it's closer to home and i can make the flight myself to come see my son when i can and be on my own schedule and not the carriers. also i've been there before so it's a little more familiar. closest i've ever been to PA is over it on the way home from europe when i used to travel there every year. but really i don't care. where ever the job sends me i'm going to give it my 120%. period.
