regardless of opinions on the "best" event--there's plenty of excitement for everyone and lots of good personal stories.

boy, the Canadians must be bummed (re: hockey)

so....how do you feel about Mary Carillo?

Cloud 02-21-2010 10:23 PM

she's on too late

Ovechkin is a thug. I know it goes with the sport, but he hit a couple people really hard in the game against the Czech Republic. It was the first time I'd seen him play.

He lives like 4-5 blocks from me, and everyone in this area is all, Ovechkin this and Ovechkin that, but I'm not impressed.

The Canada - US hockey game was awesome. Tons of action breakaways and scoring. Its basically what one should expect from an an all-star type game.

1) wow, the mens' aerial freestyle skiing is another craaaaazzzy one!

2) the brother/sister ice dancing team kind of squicks me.

Yea, but I think Sidney Crosby is uncouth in manners and extremely clownish. Blowing snot in your hand right before shaking the hands of the American team after the lose is definitely not Olympic material.

Skiing cross was exciting. Those men are hard core.

Skating was better when low definition TVs didn't make the leotards/body suits so damn obvious. :(

Trilby 02-23-2010 11:29 AM

Those dancing Canuk's on ice are the definition Olympic Champs. They looked like they were having FUN. :)

xoxoxoBruce 02-23-2010 11:58 AM

They're not supposed to be having fun, the Olympics are serious business, damn it. We've got to beat those commie/islamofascist/heretical bastards... that's the real spirit of the Olympics. :p:

Something tells me Canada would prefer Hockey Gold.

Cloud 02-23-2010 10:42 PM

I feel sorry for the favorite in the long men's speed skating. He was a shoe in for a gold, until his coach yelled at him to change lanes.

The coach was wrong, and the guy was disqualified. I think Dutch skater named Kramer.
