My buddy gave me something like 4700 songs on my eyepod. It's just on shuffle. I'm listening to shuffle.

Synth clips!
And just now I got some analog sythesizer sound clips from my buddy Ned in Portland, OR. He just picked up some used synths and is getting used to them.

Analog-to-Digital
A few years ago I realized that I wanted to digitally record music from my large collection of vinyl records. My audio-savy buddy Ned turned me on to the Sony Mini Disc. They called it a Net MD Walkman. The early models allowed you to go straight from the output of your tuner/amp to the Mini Disc Recorder/Player. Play the record, hit record, and then you have a digital copy of the vinyl record, or a variety of songs from different albums. I could go on and on, but go here to get more info:

Pangloss, I downloaded Audacity per Glatt's recommendation, but have yet to get a preamp for my ancient turntable. I have a mountain of vinyl that is not available on cd at any rate.
I miss the pacing of a vinyl life. Now I can put Itunes on shuffle and listen to music for 3 weeks without ever hearing the same song twice. There was something about having to get up and flip over the doors or van morrison halfway through that gave us a moment's pause for reflection. |
