If it weren't cheating I would call my 17 year old nephew and ask him! He loves the Dio.

Dio played trumpet for the Vegas Kings in the late 50s.

This shouldn't be too hard.

What musical instrument was invented by Lev Termen?

Flint 09-08-2006 11:10 AM

The Theremin?

Yes!

And the ball is back in your court once again, old boy.

Is that what he studied at Juliard?

Flint 09-08-2006 02:05 PM

@Griff: I've never been able to determine if Dio going to Juliard is an "urban legend" or not.

@glatt: Damnit! I really don't want it to be my turn again. I'm better at answering than asking. Give me a minute...

Flint 09-08-2006 02:07 PM

Off the top of my head... What was invented first, the foot-operated bass drum pedal, or the high-hat cymbal pedal?
And... So as this isn't a two-guess question... I can't ask you the year, but give me the century and the decade at least.

mrnoodle 09-08-2006 03:36 PM

The earliest picture I can summon into my head is of one of those one-man-band guys. I'll say 19th century, and the bass drum one came first. Total guess, though.

Flint 09-08-2006 04:02 PM

I suck at this. Bass pedal, 1909. High-hat, 1928. I forfeit my turn(s)...
