Ibram is correct for advance sales for Woodstock ... (I would have also accepted $36, as I specified "you and a friend" wanted to go).

Gate price was $24, and $7/8 per day.

Given that we're nearly paying $18 to go see a movie these days, that was an amazing deal for a three day event.

my sister has a (well, probably a reproduction of a) woodstock poster on her wall.

What movie plays in the background of Pink Floyd's The Wall?

(movie version, that is, since as far as I know nobody knows what plays in the background of the album version)

Brazil?

Undertoad 09-05-2006 12:28 PM

The Wizard of Oz?

glatt 09-05-2006 12:31 PM

Nah, it's some army movie.

"How are you doing, Tigger old boy?" comes to mind.

Sgt york?

The Charge of the Light Brigade?

I wish I knew more. It's a black and white British WWII movie. One I'd never seen before. Beats me what its name is.

I believe its the Dramatization of an actual operation in World War II in which low level Bombers from England drop skimming bombs into reservoirs in the Ruhr water system to cause floods destroying much of Germany's industrial base. Nobody knows this movie.

Any floydhead should know this one.

Dude, I couldn't even get a fill-in-the-blanks with Zappa lyrics, so don't feel bad.

I listened to it on my commute home. The one discernable line from the background movie is "Hello Tigger, old boy. How are you doing?"

Maybe they say Digger, not Tigger.

That's all I got.

Paths of Glory

Actually, the dog's name is Nigger, but for the american version of DAMBUSTERS they redubbed it Trigger.

Dambusters, a movie about blowing up a giant wall.

Okay, new question. What is the name of the band who sang with Paul Simon on Graceland (most notably, the track Homeless)?
