The Nomecam does indeed still live, although it is now known as the Nuggetcam (now named after the local newspaper, the Nome Nugget, whom I suspect now maintain the camera).

They said on the tube, east of the Mississippi, you can't sign up until after July 7th.

You can sign up online, you just can't call to sign up before 7/7 if you live on this side of the Mississippi.
