I found this blog entry to be a particularly interesting illustration of the "I've already made up my mind, don't confuse me with facts" sort of mentality many voters have these days. It is a sad fact of human nature that most people lack the character to admit when they're wrong... yet the vast majority of people would claim to have an open mind.
On a totally different note... Slashdot is doing another interview with a presidental candidate, this time the Green Paty's David Cobb... responses to questions expected next week. |
I'll vote for Bush. I don't think he's done a terrific job, but I don't see Kerry doing a great one.
Plus, check out this rather interesting article on Kerry: http://www.suntimes.com/output/elect/cst-nws-lip01.html |
We only need someone who'll do better than Bush.
OK, that's not true. We need someone who is an incredible genius to dig us out of Bush's holes, but even if Kerry's not it, that doesn't mean we need Bush to dig us deeper. |
Well, you can't blame poor George, he's only doing what he's told.
Of course if he gets reelected, he'll be taking orders from the same bunch. :( Ironic the one person he won't listen to, is his father. |
If you ever really think about it, the most important officials that we elect are our Congress members. That's where the real control is. The president primarily serves as a figurehead for our government.

Kind of like the Queen, but without the hat and the snap closure pocketbook?

Yeah, thank goodness only Congress can approve the US going to war! I mean, wow, just think of what could happen if one person, like the president, had the ability to make the decision to send our troops into other countries to fight. |
