My favorite site for education regarding the ban is here.

None of the provision of the original "assault weapons ban" did anything to make people or weapons "safer". It's just the first step toward an incremental ban of all firearms.

It is acknowledged that the weapons on the list and the magazine capacity limits were determined arbitrarily.

Citation please.

I assume you are talking about gunfire that is politically motivated and not theft/gang violence.

the schmo on the catching end of a bullet rarely is concerned with the motivation.

for the record, this type of thread is one of the reasons i stuck around the cellar. funny, bizarre, and absolutely no need for flame resistant clothing.

That guy is nothing more than a conspiracy theorist of the worst kind.

Titor, or Time In Transition Object Recognition is an A.I. algorithm written by DOD back in the mid 90's. It was originally intended to predict the outcome of military engagements prior to the battle being fought.

This was a fun thread. Too bad jaguar and hot pastrami don't come around here no more.

yeah, jag is probably one of my most missed cellarites. i didn't agree with him often but the kid was wicked smart and funny.

Aha!

Glad I'm not the only one digging up old threads reliving the good 'ole days.

As opposed to the bad new days?

LabRat 10-31-2007 03:02 PM

not bad new days...

In general, in the past there were a lot less 'me too' or 'ha ha, that made me laugh' posts. When someone posted something, it usually related to the topic by adding new or different info. Or asking for someone to back up their statements with some good old fashioned research.

Fewer threads, but more informational content.

Now it seems a lot more personal though, what with all the RFN threads and whatnot. I like being able to see the person behind the posts.

*shrug*

Just different now compared to then. Not better. Not Worse. Definately different.
