I wish I could find the quiz. I would like to see how much my views have changed in the past 4.5 years. If there ever were a period of time in which they would have changed, that particular period would be it.

Mostly, I am just hoping my husband doesn't happen into this thread.

You're right. I was a bit surprised. But I don't really believe it either. I am far from a right-wing nut. Socially liberal, fiscal conservative, morally libertarian. :D

Maybe tw will start reading your posts more closely now.

Liberal
Liberals…

* Are wary of American arrogance and hypocrisy
* Trace much of today's anti-American hatred to previous US foreign policies.
* Believe political solutions are inherently superior to military solutions
* Believe the US is morally bound to intervene in humanitarian crises
* Oppose American imperialism
* Support international law, alliances, and agreements
* Encourage US participation in the UN
* Believe US economic policies must help lift up the world's poor

Historical liberal: President Woodrow Wilson
Modern liberal: President Jimmy Carter

According to the measurement of this test, I'm a liberal. Unsurprising. I did find considerable similarity in many of the suggested answers. I wonder what nuance shaded the grading between the categories. I feel an emphasis on the phrase "American Imperialism" pushed test takers into the liberal category.

Personally, I find the phrase an inflammatory exaggeration. Some of our actions could be seen that way, but I don't believe there's any such real desire on the part of our leaders. But I can see the such a case to be made by our enemies.

I wish I learned the orginal, but there is a German expression which literally translates as "yeah, and monkeys might fly out of my arse".
Just sprang to mind.

I know there's an Afrikaans phrase which means "Stop following me!" but translates as, "Stop hanging out of my arsehole!"
