Understandable

With the Trinity you get three, three, three gods in one. What a deal!

I've always said whatever floats your boat. At some points in my life I think I prayed to the Great Pumpkin

The Security Council Court finds there was no quid pro quo, orders a stay of seizing control, and remands the petitioner to Clodfobble.

Meh. For one thing, it happened over 7 years ago. For another, it's not as if he said, "the moon reflects the sun" and people randomly started booing. He said, "here's a passage from the Bible, but of course we know it's wrong." He was deliberately antagonizing, and got the reaction he was hoping for. Why else bring up the Bible at all during a science lecture?

Nirvana 11-03-2013 04:15 PM

Aside from the tongue in cheek in this thread, the rest is kinda scary. I should clarify that the comments in my link are scary. I knew the story was old but someone posted it on FB with all their pro and con comments which were also scary

The bible speaks of musical instruments like "flutes" wood winds like "obo's" are my fav.. I imagine with all that alchemy there has to be a few scientific achievements that the bible can take credit for... like the fall of man and the rise of apes?? jkcnotfny also I think there is one thing that the bible can take credit for that none other can and that is absolute truth if your science doesn't match up to Hebrew scripture then you are absolutely wrong... people through out history have tried to "align" with the bible to there own accord.. many have met there doom because they lie about the bible and with the bible being absolute truth it just dose not mix..

sexobon 11-03-2013 08:36 PM

Then how come it was called "Bible" which contains the letters L-I-E?

Nirvana 11-03-2013 10:16 PM

Bill Nye made this comment"Genesis 1:16, which reads: "God made two great lights -- the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars."

"The lesser light, he pointed out, is not a light at all, but only a reflector"
>this pissed off people.

One person commented below the article; "The Hebrew word for light in Genesis 1:16 is "ma'owr" which means luminous, this applies to radiating OR reflecting light. So Genesis 1:16 is factually, scientifically, and theologically correct."

The point here is that people like to argue simply for arguments sake.
