I don't flirt exactly, but I do giggle and smile enough to get good service when I want it.

SteveDallas 11-04-2008 07:31 PM

And yawn?

Trilby 11-05-2008 08:36 AM

Huh. He's flirting back via email form!

Clodfobble 11-05-2008 08:41 AM

You mean he said, "Thanks, I hope you remember to vote too?"

:yum:

Trilby 11-05-2008 08:44 AM

Nope. He was very flirty. He wrote:

"I already done did vote at that them there polling place, Brianna.
See you tomorrow."

flirty? Right? He's an English guy, right? Get it? Or am I off again?

Shawnee123 11-05-2008 08:45 AM

He's obviously smitten, tongue-tied, and a bit shy.

Subject: Brianna again

Colleagues,

Here is an example of what Brianna (formerly known as "cancer lady") has been sending to me (attached). This is the same woman who had such a negative impact on both my teaching, my emotional response, and on my professional standing here at Osulite University.

Clearly, she is semi-insane and only wants to impact my life in a dramatic way. Here I think she's trying to flirt with me (my department colleagues agree) and I just want you to be on notice that not only has this happened, but that it represents a further arc in her emotional reactions over the last year and a half that have had such huge repercussions for me, my teaching career and my family.

It is clear that her creative writing skills are above normal, and on that matter she should be quite proud, as I am in having instructed her. But you can see that this situation has not resolved itself. I have sent her a simple notice (also attached) thanking her for her help in "filling out my ballot", in which I merely explained that I understand the ballot process; but I suspect she only read it as an acknowledgment of her lurid suggestions, which is not exactly what I intended.

In every other way she's an outstanding woman and student. One lecturer in our department suggested that I take notice of the outstanding quality of her cans, but I don't see what food storage has to do with it. Please advise.

FOUL!

Ut has clearly hacked my .edu account!

*sobs quietly, awaits police action*

ps--nice osulite, there. Exactly right!

SquidGirl 11-05-2008 11:17 AM

I like the idea of flirting with professors, them and their suits and intelligence, control in the lecture halls....ohhh....anyway, I just tell myself if they will do something with me they probably are with 20 other students. I find Brits come off rather flirty a lot...but maybe it's due to my personal fondness for them, too:blush:

Shawnee123 11-05-2008 11:32 AM

Great email, UT. I especially love the blind courtesy copy. :)

Cicero 11-05-2008 06:06 PM

*sigh* So yea....whatever. You were temporarily handicap with your condition, and he shut you down. I wouldn't call this flirting.

Whatever floats your boat.;)

Quite right UT, quite.

hahahahahahah. Thanks for that, it made my day.

@squid, a bit of 'flirt' is pretty normal in brit conversation I think. But, Bri, that didn't sound actively flirty to me at all.
