Sorry for infringing on lj's territory.

Suggestion:
Ibram, you often post single words posts, consisting simply of "no."
It is often funny, depending on context.
But I wonder if it is creating a negative/rejection/denial theme in your state of mind.
Therefore, I suggest you say "yes" to everything for a while and see what happens. I mean say yes to every single suggestion or request that comes your way. Hell it will get you doing things.
Post "YES!" too.

you're just waiting for him to agree so that you can ask some ridiculous questions where an affirmative answer will make us all laugh. hey... that sounds fun, can i join?

Only if your work for the day is done, mister!

ZenGum 11-09-2007 09:57 AM

Lookout, don't give it away!!!!
Sheesh. Now you've blown it (as the bishop said to the actress).

Okay, Ibram, say yes to everything suggested to you by anyone who doesn't know that you're following the say yes rule.

Ibby 11-09-2007 10:14 AM

No.

ZenGum 11-09-2007 10:19 AM

Should have seen THAT coming.

Okay then, tell me in one word ... are you refusing my suggestion?

Ibby 11-09-2007 10:21 AM

Really, I want to keep my one-word absolutes for drax. I just couldn't resist saying it just then.

No....not talking about them. And Prick-tease is still a term used by the kids in school.

Don't go boasting to your buddies on the 'net.
1. If she finds out she will be gone faster than a fart in a typhoon.
2. Don't, ever, count your eggs before they are *cough* laid.

Spoken like a pro.

okay so TAPS (international theatre arts synopsium thing) is here right, and turns out... this girl i knew in like sixth grade in beijing is here, and its like, holy shit, i know you!
and turns out she's reasonably attractive and from what i've heard, of rather... free moral standards.... and knowing her before is definitely a big talking/hitting on her point, so i think i may try to pursue that.
Worst case scenario, i hit on her and she doesnt pay attention.
Likely scenario, I hit on her and she gets to be a good friend but nothing happens in the two days that she'll actually be here
Best case... I think we know what that one is.

Ibby 11-16-2007 08:13 AM

Shot down!
I thought chloe was pretty receptive to my flirting, like, a lot, but I guess I misread that. At the end of the TAPS events for today I asked her what she was going afterwards, and she said probably just going home. I nodded and kinda wandered off, and then as everyone was leaving, I asked her if she wanted to go grab some dinner down the street, since i noticed she didn't really eat dinner with the rest of us. She says "maybe, um, it depends on mumblemumblemumblewalkaway".
Later on the way out she passes me in the hall, and I ask, "so that's no on the dinner then?" and i get more or less the same answer, with a little more positive and a little less mumble and a little less walk away.
I go down to the lobby with the two guys rooming at my house, and ask one more time what everyone's doing just to make sure, and my friend robert asks vivian (the girl whose house chloe's staying at) what's going on. Grant, the other guy staying at my house, wants to go home, so we decide we'll run him home real quick then me and robert will come back. We work out that we're all gonna go down to Coldstone together and chill there for a bit - not a date, but, well, still okay.
Then, vivian says stuff isn't gonna work cause chloe wants to go get pancakes down the street, and it'll be hard to meet up. Okay, we decide, we'll put grant in a cab and send him home like that, and me and rob'll tag along with the girls.
We go with that for a bit, we're walking down the street, and i flag down a cab for grant... then robert says he just talked to vivian again and, prettymuch, the verdict is chloe's just looking for ways to get out of ending up in the same place as me in a not-quite date.

So yeah, we just said fuck it and went home.
