6 games up after a 10 game road trip. When they left they were 3 games up.

W.HI.P 05-03-2006 09:02 PM

as i said, there is something seriously wrong with wagner, he managed in his first couple pitches to throw a 3-1 lead to the pirates.
mets don't have much of anything else to back em' up, wagner hasn't looked good since mid april ....ny mets in serious trouble dispite being in a penant race where they're the only ones running

SteveBsjb 05-07-2006 07:53 AM

Wagner may turn it on. Sometimes it takes a while to feel comfortable in a new uniform.

Right now, may I say, the Mets have the best record in baseball, and own the Braves. I hope they win today. Lima pitching for the Mets at 1:10.

W.HI.P 05-07-2006 09:41 AM

well, after 6 serious hickups, they left him out last night when the mets we're obviously gonna win it... now that's a first.
atlanta does not have a team, so don't be too proud of that.
your program is so easy as well as your division that you're gonna have a winning record this week as well, but hey...when it comes down to meeting some opponents that can actually hit the ball, you will not win, unless the lineup steps up a notch.... mets preformance beyond thei'r record is sub par.
a real mets fan is aware of this.
today is not an easy match-up, smoltz does not allow many hits at all throughout his career, let alone with a team that can't hit it, so i'd bet on atlanta for today.... you'll lose 1-2 against philadelphia, brewers won't be easy either, worse to come afterwards

W.HI.P 05-09-2006 11:56 PM

huge slump has begun for the mets.
they are not looking to good
they may still squeeze a win or two in against milwakie, but after that;
long series with st. louis, and right after that, interleague play against the yankees. i figure the mets will go 3 wins 10 losses all the way to the 25th, so if you're a gambler...stay away or at least bet against the mets.

What about Chicago Cubs? 10 straight L's! Will Baker get canned?

W.HI.P 05-10-2006 01:45 AM

i don't think so, i can't see why.
cubs best player lee is on the dl
ramirez and pierre are not in form ......yet
when they pick up, i'm sure the cubs will get back on track

of course lee's not due back till late summer, so i can't see how the team can have a season to there full potential.
white sox looking alot better at the moment.

W.HI.P 05-20-2006 03:03 PM

i've been telling you guys all month that there is something wrong with mets rp wagner ...today, mets up 4-0 9th inning, wagner loads the basses gives up a run [4-1] and then walks the weakest yankees batters stinnet, and then hits the next batter, making it 4-3, now, obviously the mets are having serious problems when they don't have a relief pitcher...yankees just tied the game btw ... 4-4 ..what are the mets gonna do ....will wagner wake up, cause if not, they're not gonna win too many games for the rest of the year

btw wagner today

0.1 innings pitched
2 hits
4 runs
4 errors
3 walks

10 million dollar player

Dude whined it was hard to play in Philly because the fans were so hard on the team.

WabUfvot5 06-15-2006 02:15 AM

So are the Mets for real? 8.5 game lead over the Phillies and they've won 7 straight and 9 of their last 11. Granted most those wins came against teams who are mediocre at best IMO. Dodgers, Diamondbacks, and now two from the Phillies. The real test will be the rest of this month when they face (in order): Orioles, Reds (4 games), Blue Jays, Red Sox, and then Yankees.

A's are doing there typical June magick too :D Still got a lot of guys beat up but we managed to survive what is hopefully the worst of it.

W.HI.P 06-15-2006 02:47 AM

oh, the mets are on fire ..it all started the second 'milledge' joined the team.
sure they're for real. most impressive win was against arizona's webb.
being 8.5 in front dosen't mean anything for a division like that though.
the mets had won it before the season started.
delgado woke up after his terrible slump, and the rest of the lineup as well.

but ...and yes there is a but ....the starting pitchers are starting to lose it, of course it wasn't noticed so much because the lineup made up for it.
but what happens if the lineup goes back to at least their mediocre first half of the season, at least the starting pitchers were doing their work.
what happens if the sp's continue to give up hits and runs like they've been of late and the lineup gets off the speed their on. they'll go on a loosing streak, but hey,it dosen't matter in a division without opposition.

hey, at least wagner's back, and sanchez is doing more than expected of him in the set up role...basically its all positive for the mets, at least until the end of the regular season.

hey, and don't forget clemens's return on the 22nd against minnesota.....what am i saying, the media won't let you forget.
goooooooooooooooo astros [angels fan]
