Yeah, but 7-UP with Splenda is really, really GOOOOOOD. Better than regular 7-UP.

My true addiction - with cravings & all - is ice cold Lucozade first thing in the morning. And I mean so cold that the top is slushy and your throat almost closes up in self defence. I just love feeling the chill all the way down......

Its my hangover cure, my pick me up and my breakfast substitute.

But just about everything I eat at the moment falls into the category of "Once I start I'll carry on until its all gone", which is why a health kick beckons. And my beloved Lucozade will be replaced by fruit. Tcha.

Trilby 09-29-2005 09:39 AM

I googled lucozade--it seems it's a glucose drink? Like, tons of sugar? Buzz cola, if you will?

Sundae 09-29-2005 10:11 AM

I didn't realise it wasn't international or I'd have given more detail. Yes, its a glucose drink - if you were ill in the 70's the chances are your Mum would have poured this down your throat!

Its bright orange but doesn't have a particularly strong flavour, so not to be confused with Iron-Bru.

But as you say - brimful of sugar, and bearing in mind I'm drinking it partly to repair myself following a night on calorific beer its hardly surprising I am beginning to bulge out of my clothes :(

Health kick, health kick, health kick. October.

I tried the New Diet Coke with Splenda.

I am very, very sorry that I did. It tastes nothing at all like Coke.
Wolf, have you tried the Coke C2 yet? Half sugared, half Splenda, just a touch lighter on the palate than regular Coke. Not a diet drink, just a smaller dose of sugar. You could get up to one of those every week! I think in C2 Coca-Cola Corp actually succeeded in what they tried to do with New Coke -- by taking a totally different road.

Near impossible to get a good steak outside of Philly.
My onetime manager, of blessed memory, was raised in Allentown PA and was plenty particular about his Philly cheese steaks.

He found happiness with The Great Central Steak & Hoagie Company, four or five locations in Ventura County CA. He thought the GCS&H in Santa Paula did it the best, and he'd always stop there on his sales rounds. Being as it's Ventura County, you can also get a tri-tip sandwich there. This marinated barbequed beef is a local specialty.

I tried it when it first came out...that, and Pepsi Edge. Awful.

Unless they reformulated it, C2 has aspartame in it also. No go.

Urbane Guerrilla 10-02-2005 01:09 AM

Oh dear. Well, I only react normally to aspartame. I wonder if it's brain chemistry or some other detail of the sensory nervous system?

elSicomoro 10-02-2005 02:31 AM

Wolf is totally pulling your leg about the aspartame reaction. It actually turns her into a raging liberal...she makes Michael Moore look like a violent reactionary. It's not pretty...the last time she had it, she threw her gun in a creek and hugged a tree.

wolf 10-02-2005 02:40 AM

Nice thing about Glocks is that as soon as the feeling passes I can fish it out of the creek and dispose of any witnesses.

Hey, my lips are totally sealed about that one guy you snuffed at Forks 2003.
